Breaking News: 3 team trade pending
Jim Gray is reporting that KG is heading to the Suns, Boston will get Marion and Minnesota will get the #5 pick and other unnamed players. This all depends on Marion decision to opt out of his contract after his year in Boston.

So let me get this straight... Phoenix now has a team consisting of Amare Stoudemire, Steve Nash, and Kevin Garnett???
Great. That is just great.

As well as Boston. It doesn't make sense for them either. They need all the picks they can get and they'll trade away their number 5? Danny Ainge is an idiot. I don't see this going through. If it does, that would be the most lopsided 3 way trade for one team I've ever seen.

Why would Marion sign an extension with Boston? Him plus Pierce doesn't equal a whole hell of a lot.

They have 3 first round picks with this deal don't they?
They get the 5 and expirings from boston.
It was Pierce demanding a star player that got this trade done IMO.

Suns, Wolves, Celtics start up Garnett talks
ESPN.com news services
Kevin Garnett went so far as to talk to Kobe Bryant about the two stars playing together on the Los Angeles Lakers. He might want to give Steve Nash a call.
ESPN's Jim Gray reported on Tuesday night that a league source said that the latest trade scenario has Garnett landing in Phoenix with the Suns.
Three teams are involved in these discussions, with the Suns getting Garnett, the Celtics picking up Phoenix forward Shawn Marion and the Wolves acquiring the fifth pick in Thursday's draft and players from Boston.
This development comes after ESPN's Ric Bucher reported earlier on Tuesday that talks between the Lakers and Wolves concerning Garnett had broken down. The Lakers had reportedly offered a package containing at least forward Lamar Odom and center Andrew Bynum.
The current trade is basically contingent on whether Marion would agree to a contract extension with the Celtics, Gray reported. Marion can opt out of his contract after the 2007-08 season. The Suns have spoken to Marion about the deal.
The Suns and Wolves spoke about a Garnett trade last week, and according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, Marion told Phoenix that he would not want to play for Minnesota or Boston.
Sources have told Stein that Garnett and Nash have become good friends in recent years. Garnett, a 10-time All-Star, has told the Wolves that he wants to play for a warm weather team that has a legitimate chance to win the championship.
Garnett can also opt out of his contract after the coming season, prompting talks that the Timberwolves refused to entertain for years.

Either Al Jefferson is in the deal and Ainge is a dumb ass or he isn't and McHale is a dumb ass.

The Suns leak the story IMO...
They let Suns fans know that this deal is on Marion saying yes. If he says no he commits public suicide for this remainder in Phoenix.

There should be some kind of rule against this.
How much is Garnett on the books for next year?

I think Boston could do a hell of a lot better than Marion with all of their assets in aquiring a star player, probably not what Pierce had in mind. I doubt Marion signs an extension with that team anyways.

No. Why would the Suns leak this? When you leak a trade, there's a good chance it won't go down. The Suns, according to this deal, make out the best...by FAR. If there's a team that wouldn't leak this, it would be the Suns. The team that would leak it would be the TWolves because they know that a team would outbid the 'current' 3 way.

I really hope to god that Marion declines to sign an extension with Boston and stops this trade from happening.
A lineup for the suns consisting of Nash/Barbosa/Bell/Amare/KG.... that is pretty scary. It doesn't seem like much depth though. Thomas would probably have to be sent to Minny and so would Banks.
As for us wtf do we do? I don't want to get rid of Terry because he is our second best shooter, but he is a big defensive liability. Harris still can't hit a mid range shot, but is our best defender. Stackhouse is getting too old to play starter minutes. Buck was a bust and who knows what George is going to do? We have no low post game other than Dirk although he didn't show much of one during the playoffs. Howard's shooting has improved but still makes a lot of mistakes and tries to do too much on his own.
As you can see I'm really starting to panic now!

Suns are keeping there 2 first round picks and next years ATL pick so they keep the reported deal with a "Top 10 pick" of this years draft.
Suns possibly get Noah and Garnett within 2 days.

To force Marion to sign. If he stays in Phoenix he will be known to the fans as "the guy who kept KG out of a Suns Uni".

The worst part of this, if it were to happen, is that this is the only way for stubborn-as-hell Dan Tony to win without having to change his system that doesn't work. His new lineup would be above the system.

Well, the Suns would be better defensively...but, the odds of one of their players ending up hurt because Garnett is a puss that likes to beat on his own players increases.

Yeah if anything Marion saying he didn't want to play for Boston might give him a huge payday he never would have got unless he said that.

Minny is going to be REALLY good if that trade goes down and they draft above average. Really good. It might take 3-4 years, but that team could be great.

I guess all teams do really well based on what they are looking for. Boston gives up a lot but they put Marion on a team with Jefferson and Pierce. Minny is all about starting over and have Foye along with a slew of first round picks. Phoenix, well that shit is obvious. I guess this has the potential to be a win win win, but damn I hope it doesn't happen because it all but ensures no title for Dallas unless we make some sort of a splash. There is no way one superstar beats 3 in the playoffs. No way.

Jim Gray is saying on ESPNEWS that Marion is getting tired of play 3rd fiddle to Nash and Amare.
If this trade goes down than expect LAL to go after JO, but they do not want to get rid of Bynum.
