Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Yahoo deactivated my email account because of 'inactivity'. Supposedly, if you don't use your email account in 4 months, it will delete. Well, I don't regularly visit my yahoo account, but I had definitely used it within the past 3-4 weeks.. I lost hundreds of emails... several phone numbers and contact names/addresses etc... Anyone else ever have this happen?

Not with Yahoo, but with Hotmail.
Very obnoxious.

It happened to me with hotmail, but really, it just saved me time cause I didn't want that account anymore.
Sadly, my HD crashed on my laptop this spring and my mail program thus lost thousands of emails. That really bugged me.

I have never used Yahoo email for any real purposes, but I seemed to recall establishing an account for fantasy football games and so forth. After reading your post, I went to see if I could log in.
I went to yahoo.com, which I never use, and it recognized me. I signed into Yahoo mail, and the account was active. I sent a test message to myself back in March, according to my Outbox, but no activity since then. My inbox has five messages, all from Yahoo itself.
So, I haven't used it in three months, and even then I used it only to send a test, and mine is still active.
Maybe you should rip Yahoo a new one.

I've had it happen before. If you don't log into your account for awhile it does that. It's happened to me once or twice before. I think you can reactivate it but I don't remember. Chum, in your case you were still logged in (i believe) so that's why it didn't deactivate. It does get annoying.

But still....3 or 4 weeks, that's clearly not a designed feature. (At least I hope not).
But how can you really complain about a free e-mail account? That's what sucks about it. Yahoo isn't really obligated to help you out.

Yes, it's happened to me, but I was able to reactive. It linked me to the "register" page where I put in the login and password again. I don't remember losing any important addresses, etc., so you might still be able to redeem that stuff (can't remember if I had anything important saved there).
