haven't heard the new one, but i plan on picking it up when it's officially released next week.

forgot to mention that I picked this up. After a few listens, i like it better than "Futures". I think it's a solid CD, and the first song (Big Casino) is great.

Man I was really disappointed with the new Jimmy Eat World cd. Although I think Futures is far and away the best work they've done, so it's understandable that we differ on the new one as well.

I think Bleed American is their best, followed by Clarity. I by no means don't like Futures. It's still a good CD, i just think i like the new one a little better.

The wife and I had a long trip to knoxville last weekend, and we listened to them all in a row. I think I like the new one better than futures, but Bleed American is my favorite. I don't have Clarity, I need to get one.

Well, it's that time of the year again. What are everyone's top albums for 2007? This was a particularly fruitful year for me, especially for Texas music:
1. St. Vincent - Marry Me (Dallas)
2. Jens Lekman - Night Falls Over Kortedala
3. Red Monroe - ¡Policia! ¡Policia! (Dallas)
4. Okkervil River - The Stage Names (Austin)
5. Oliver Future - Pax Futura (Austin/LA)
6. Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (Austin)
7. Hogpig - Hold Back the Curse (Denton)
8. Sarah Reddington - All Our Friends Have Gone Missing (Denton/Portland)
9. Pseudosix - Pseudosix
10. The Dirty Projectors - Rise Above
Anyone else have some favorites from 2007? White Stripes, Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, et al?

The new Radiohead is way different than I thought it would be. I figured they would continue down the Kid A route.

Totally agree...
I think the first song is a bit too electronic, the second song is a bit too rock, but the rest of the album might be their best body of work to date...
I dig Thom Yorke's solo album too...

Squarepusher - Hello Everything
It's nice to see him getting back to his jazz roots, rather than all that "noise" he's been making in recent years... (as if any of you know who he is!)

You should go see him live. I was skeptical about how much I would enjoy a rap/hip hop concert live, but it was actually really awesome.
