Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys (11/29/07 - 7:15PM CST)
I couldn't find a stupid preview for this game... which is unreal because it's so big. So I am not posting one. If someone has one feel free to take up where I slacked off...

I can't believe it's 7 points.
I'd make that that line at -3 dallas in Irving, and -3 Packers if it were in GB.

7 points is about right. These teams are not even.

I don't know.... Each team has played 3 games against an opponent with a winning record (Dallas played the Giants twice, so only two teams with winning records). Green Bay won all their games against teams with winning records. Of course our one loss was against the team no one can beat. But looking at the schedule so far played by both teams I'd say Dallas has had a slightly easier schedule with the exception of the Patriots game of course. Dallas has seen 3 of the worst teams in the league whereas Green Bay is meeting mostly mediocre teams. And we both have lost one game.
I'd say that's pretty even steven.

Watching both teams actually play though...I think there's a noticeable difference.
That's just my opinion. We shall see, most likely twice.

I think the game depends entirely on donald driver. The packers can't' run the ball on anyone in the league, so that's not going to change this week. If they don't have driver, and they can't run the ball, then they are screwed.
Favre may be able to do some things to the cows secondary that they haven't seen this season, but I think there will probably be at least a couple of cases of Favre trying to do too much, and throwing the ball to a very lucky cowboy or two.

The Green Bay Packers haven't won at Texas Stadium since 1989, which was four coaches and three starting quarterbacks ago.
Brett Favre is 0-8 there, one of nine current stadiums in which he is without a win.

Go Cowboys.

Farve is due for a win here. I have a bad feeling about this game.
NOT
i'm calling it, 4 int's on Brett (2 by my most hated Cowboy, Roy Williams)
Dallas wins easily 38-21

Green Bay's running game hasn't been too bad as of late, but I'm betting the Cowboys defense shuts them down thanks to the dominance of the Cows' running defense this year.
I'm not actually expecting a huge game out of Donald Driver. My guess is that Newman covers him a good chunk of the game and does so pretty well. The problem is some of their other guys. Greg Jennings would be on pace for a 1100 had he not missed the first two games of the season. Jennings is a threat for a deep bomb at any moment (and that's definitely a weakness for this Cowboys team), and James Jones ain't too shabby for a rookie. This Green Bay has had some success with 5 wide receiver sets due to their depth at the position, which should be kind of scary for a team like the Cowboys with some secondary issues. I don't think Green Bay will have too much trouble scoring on the Cowboys. The question is will they be able to slow down the Cowboys offense?
Should be fun.

Well then good. If this game goes down to a shootout, I have full confidence in the Boys to come out on top.

Just an observation for everyone who keeps pointing out how many teams with winning records we've played:
Of the 32 teams in the NFL, only 13 are over .500...
It's hard to find teams with winning records when the Patriots, Cowboys, Packers and Colts have a combined 40-4 record (hell, toss in the Steelers & Jags and it's still 56-10...)
Of the 12 winning teams that we can play, 5 are outstanding and 3 are barely over .500 - that only leaves 4 other "winners" in the entire league and they're each 7-4... Slim pickings, huh?
The NFL is just so lopsided this season - good thing we're on the winning end of that statistic!

I was just trying to point out why I have the belief that we are more evenly matched than thiggy thought.
You can't deny that the scheduling gods were friendly to us when we have faced Miami, St. Louis and the Jets.... That doesn't mean I think we WOULD have lost one of those 3 games had the team been more mediocre like the teams the Packers have faced.... but it does reinforce my insecurity with this teams pass defense.

I wasn't so much debating your statement as I was trying to point out how lopsided the NFL is this season - you just provided me with the perfect segue... Thanks!

packers, running game?
The Packers took a while to find an adequate starting running back, but they seemingly have found their man in Ryan Grant. Since first starting in Week 9, Grant is averaging 90 yards per game on 4.6 yards a carry. However, three of the four teams he's faced - the Chiefs, Panthers, and Lions - allow more rushing yards per game (109, 112.3, and 95.8, respectively) than Grant averages.

It looks like Woodson might not be able to go for the Pack. GB is just a little too banged up to win this game, me thinks.
