the next chinese basketball superstar?
some people regard this kid, xu yong, as the next chinese basketball superstar. he looks like an interesting prospect. there's even a 7 foot 13 year old kid in the video too... i don't understand how people can grow that tall, that fast.

The Chinese are even smarter than we think they are. Ever notice how 99% of them are below average height but a few are gargantuan athletic freaks? That's not luck, it's supreme genetic engineering. If they aren't planning on overtaking the NBA within the next couple of decades, at least they will be dominating the Olympics.

When you've got a billion and a half people, many will be tall.

I knew someone was going to say this. It's not racism, because the distinction was made by country, not race. (China does have reproduction laws, doesn't it?)
And don't assume all Chinese people are Chinese. (sorry I couldn't resist)

And you lost me... Chinese people aren't Chinese?
Also, what does the one-child policy have to do with average height?

And you are...surprised? If you check out the gym at almost any major university, you'd probably find a pretty big percentage of asian ballers. And they are only the 2nd-4th (4th is stretching it) generations of Asian Americans in the US.
Plenty more to come.
