The New Jersey Nets have requested waivers on center Jamaal Magloire, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today.
Magloire, who signed with the Nets on July 17, 2007, played in 24 games this season, averaging 1.8 points and 3.4 rebounds. The eight-year pro holds career averages of 8.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in 530 NBA games. [READ]

We must do something to get this guy. He's the best fit out there for a backup center. Shoot he was an all star about 3 years ago!!!

I was hoping we got him in the deal..I mean the guy was a one ti me all start and can still play pretty good...

he has to clear waivers first right? how long will that take? do you think he'll clear?...
we need him. backup center is necessary. so is a legit backup pg to help out when kidd is not out on the floor...

I think he already cleared waivers so we just need to sign him. But remember we're also in the mix for Brent Barry we're said to be one of five teams he's going to choose (not neccessarily the Spurs)

I agree we HAVE to have him or someone like him. And I don't see any other hims out there.
