Thank you nikeball, for consolidating all these rumors/trades into one thread.
This will be the first draft that I'm going to watch live, what an exciting night!

1. Looks like they have agreed in principle, but the deal can not be completed until late in the first week of July. Indiana also gets Toronto's #1 pick as well fyi.
2. I like this trade for both parties. Yi gets to go to the bigger market, with a much larger asian population. Also this gives the Nets tremendous flexibility for 2010 when they are going to sign King James to a max contract. And Skiles gets to have a legitimate scorer in RJ--a lineup of Mo/Redd/RJ/PF/Bogut isn't too shabby in the east, probably 5-7th seed.
3. Does this mean OJ is going to go back to LA, lol.
question:
can you trade the same pick multiple times in one night?
for example, if the Clippers receive Seattle's #4, can they trade it to Miami in a package deal for Marion?

Wow, Yi to Brooklyn. China will be happy.

Helps the Lebron to Brooklyn cause some more.
He will easily be the most marketable star in China if he is teammates with Yi...and he speaks the most Mandarin on Team USA.

Good thread. I didn't see this before I posted in the around the nba section.
According to Chad Ford the Spurs have sent an email out to every team in hopes of selling the 26th pick.

Really smart move, for driving up the price. Looks like San Antonio is about to improve again. (what else is new)

The rumors surrounding the Spurs is really strange the last few days. First, Ford said the Spurs committed to Ryan Anderson while Draft Express said they were committed to Nicolas Batum. They still stand by that statement while Ford last night switched to Batum as well.
Yahoo rumors said that the Spurs tried to trade up to 20, 21, and 24 but could not work anything out. Now Ford posts this email about trying to trade out.

I wonder what MIL is trying to do, are they going to keep that the new core group?
The Clippers have to be pushing pretty hard for OJ and thinking/praying Minnesota won't take him.

No, if Mayo's on the board at 4, Seattle gets him. Don't think LA can get Mayo based on the trade contingencies. LA's on Gordon's jock, bad if you're waiting for a Jet-maggette deal.

JET/Maggs deal isn't happening. I hope we've all accepted that when he decided not to opt out.

A small part of me still thinks there is a big move looming for Dallas tonight. The majority of me thinks that we'll buy a late first rounder, and I'm hoping that leads to Rush or CDR.

LOL how did the Mavericks pull this off?
1980: 11th pick
1981: 1st pick + 9th pick
1982: 4th pick
1983: 9th pick + 11th pick
1984: 5th pick + 15th pick
1985: 8th pick + 16th pick + 17th pick
1986: 7th pick
we probably had the worst scouts in NBA history...

I'm depressed. I just don't have confidence in the Mavs front office to pull anything exciting off tonight.
Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll be singing a different tune.

Yea, then he refused to sign and was shipped out for that pick in 1981 that became Rolando.

"Memphis has checked with Dallas about acquiring Josh Howard."
thememphisedge.com
Is there anyway we go for that? (i.e. Mike Miller + their 1st round pick?)

I dont understand why we werent in the RJ race. Maybe Kidd didnt want to play with him again. But I would have done a Howard for RJ.maybe with some other pieces involved

That would suck if someone killed themselves over the Mavs then we win the championship the next year. Or at least it would suck for the one who commited suicide.

If they give us #5 and something...sure!
If Kevin Love is gone before it's Memphis' pick, all I've heard is that they want out of the pick then.

That's what I meant but couldn't remember their exact pick #. So #5 + Mike Miller for J-ho. What does everyone think? If Memphis is the one inquiring they have to know they're gonna give up their pick plus a decent player.
But I'm sure the Mavs front office stubborness will prevent that from happening even if it were on the table. "We like our team" then another 2008-09 first round exit "We still like our team."

If Memphis is willing to deal Miller ANNNNND #5 for Josh....DO THE FRIGGEN DEAL. Memphis would be stupid for doing that deal, but we would need to take that and run.
I would think something more along the lines of Miller + Lowry or Cardinal and #5
For Josh, Bass and Stack or EJ

Memphis dealed Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown and some trash. (Kwame is trash really) I don't see why not.
But I don't think Josh is getting traded no matter what.

As long as we're willing to take Cardinal way and we gave them something like Stack or EJ in terms of relief, they're willing to listen.
Like I said, if Love is gone...the floodgates could open for that MEM pick.

This was a move to get Lebron in 2010. Howard's deal expires in 2011, same year as RJ if he picks up his player option.

They should do it, but obviously we haven't heard anything is imminent. (draft is <1 hour.)

Well if Memphis is after Love, they should be able to get him. If it goes down Rose-Beasley-Mayo, then the Sonic-Clipper trade goes down with Eric Gordon going at 4 to the Clippers.

Well it's still early, seems the rumor is that Love is their choice, otherwise they're out. So we probably won't know until Minny selects, then #4 would either be Mayo to SEattle or Gordon to the Clippers.

Yeah, I'm not sure how Love would not fall to Memphis. They just might not want to get younger, or they want even more cap room.
As for the NJ thing, man...it's dicey to put all your eggs in that LeBron basket. If the Knicks can find some way to get remotely close, the Nets will loose that race. It's a long shot for NY to get that room, but still.

Because the Nets want flexibility to sign the King in 2010, not a pothead to reunite with Devin.
Furthermore, the Nets are going to make a lot of money with the Yi trade with the large Asian population in the NE.

I agree. If you had asked me during this time last year--he was my second favorite player heading into college (behind Rose and ahead of Jarryd), but he's fallen far off my list since then--However, he reminds me a lot of Mitch Richmond, we'll see if he gets a chance in the NBA.

I disagree BG, I think the JayZ/Lebron teaming is pretty close to inevitable as you can get in this league.
