New Username!
Thanks to sike and dj, I've got a new username (see left). I'm sure you all would have put 2 and 2 together since my av hasn't changed and the name still has "Dub," but I thought I'd give formal notice.
Cheers!

I actually noticed this before you even made a post with it. I pondered starting a thread on it but figured you would address it at some point.
What a sneak attack!

Neither of you live around here, and I'm not originally from here and it took me a while to figure it out as well, so I'll clue you in:
For some reason, people who go to the university of texas feel the need to absolutely beat everyone over the head with it.

This is correct.
No, but actually, the older username was sort of a vestige from my slightly younger days that's no longer really applicable to my life. Of course, none of you know the difference since we don't know each other except through this medium, but I like to keep things current for my own sake.
And, of course, what Flac said. Why wouldn't we beat everyone over the head with it?

I didn't know you were a CCIE. That's cool.

I assumed he was giving us dates, or some other tally in roman numerals
Mavs ten,
becomes
mavs (something larger than ten)
(and I never really could read roman numerals much past that point... and the "E" confused me)

Really? So who are the Longhorns on this board then? Since they all beat you over the head with it?

Flac apparently has an extremely low threshold for what qualifies as "beating someone over the head."

I've strongly considered asking to have the "32" taken off my name. It seems very weird and formal when someone refers to me as "jthig32" now.
But jthig32 is my username for *everything* on the web, so I decided against it.

It seems like you could have gotten jthig without the numbers just about anywhere. I guess the problem you run into is some sites require more than 5 characters in a username...

This is me, holding my tongue.
And I tried to get "Flaco" when I first registered and it wouldn't let me. Doesn't make any sense, but I swear that's the way it happened. I wouldn't really want to change it now, however.

I think "jthig32" originated back when I was on AOL, and just "jthig" was taken. so I've just used it ever since. At some point I even used "jthig3200" for some reason. I think I actually registered that username here at one point, way before I started posting.

I wish I would've gone with Brad.
Because when people call you "Brad", you start to feel like a "Brad".

Man oh man.... a moderator that breaks the community standards.
edit: Dang it Flaco, if you had just waited a minute to post what used to be on this line would have made sense.

I generally referred to him as PDub, so I guess I'll go with LDub. Or LoDub.

(I want to make him regret this change!)

Its up to you...and would be a cool name....but u2sarajevo is just so classic 'round these parts.
my two cents anyway.
