this is what I want to see starting tonight:
1. Houston loses to Memphis by a point because of a game winner at the buzzer by Rudy Gay
2. Houston gets blown out by Dallas on national TV on Thursday
3. Ron Artest goes on a roid rage and punches out the team.

oh nice, I didn't realize we get Houston on the 2nd night of a back-to-back for them.
I'm so pumped for tomorrow. Dallas better crush them.

Al Harrington wants a trade because he doesn't like playing for Don Nelson.
Refreshing to hear.

Man Duncan is pouring it in. He's going to carry the Spurs while Manu is out.

He's probably the first and only player I ever heard say that. Him and Chris Webber I guess then Webber decides to sign back to him last season.

Phoenix in good shape to win this one. All they have to do is not Phoenix themselves like they always do.

ROFL Duncan trying for the playoff 3 pointer magic again. No go. Suns win.

Anyone one else a little surprise that New York beat Miami? And Miami had to make a mad comeback in the 4th quarter to make the game interesting.

New York is going to win some regular season games this year. And Miami is going to suck. So I'm personally not surprised.
Memphis is giving Houston all they handle right now.

Not possible. Haven't you heard? Houston is the presumptive king of the Southwest.

Well..I personally think they're going to be pretty good, but they apparantly can't put it in the bucket tonight.
I wish failure on them all.

I think New York can contend for the 7th or 8th seed in the East...it's just too wide open after you get past that top level of teams in the East, it's a short list. Lee is a huge difference maker in that system now with his hustle and energy...D'Antoni will eat that up.
Denver looks like they're getting killed in the paint and boards vs Utah...dumb move to let Camby go for nothing.

They're pretty good every year. They will be somewhat better this year.
Still, the early reports of their assured dominance of the division may have been a bit premature.

Someone on the Clips bench (sitting next to Campy) just asked to see the watch of some dude behind him, and spent a couple minutes studying it while play was going on.
Game 1 of the season....can't be a good sign for the Clips focus.

You're giving a totally different playbook when you play for the Clip Joint, it's a silly organization.

There are probably 2000 empty seats in the lower bowl at the Rockets season opener.

I never wish injury on collegiate athletes (even OU players....) but when it comes to the pros, F' em. Like I said, I hope every single non-Mavs WC star gets injured every single year. I don't feel the least bit bad for them.

Yes, it was an ugly win, and to have a margin of victory of 11 points while playing SO out of rhythm, I guess there are worse things on opening night.

Yes, many of those seats are owned by large corporations and unfortunately those people occupying the seats early on also leave early or better yet don't show up.

The Rockets shot 5/16 from three...that's it? The ESPNEWS highlights made it look like it was raining 3's. Funny ESPN. Even funnier Grizzlies...0/13 from long distance. Ouch.

I think it's a real nice batch of rookies.
Oden is going to be the blemish but hey, there are some rising stars in that group for sure.

You forgot Chalmers in Miami for that list. I know people maybe aren't expecting quite as much from him, but he arguably got off to the best start - 17 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds. Not a bad night at all.

Marcus Williams was a DNP for GS. So much for that "better or as good as Harris" talk.

I guess wishing injury upon a player could be considered a step above simply "not feeling bad" when such a player gets injured.

I never understood what was immoral about wishing injury. Unless you believe in voodoo magic, it has no effect whatsoever. Nor does schaudenfraude make an injured player's situation any better or worse.

Wow, I totally missed that guy. That's a hell of a debut.
Second-round pick, and not signed by the Wolves? Looks like they may have made a mistake.
