Denver was one thing... but this is just rediculous.
I can tolerate a loss to Denver... Clearly one of the top teams in the WC. But a completely winnable game in NJ that we lost? That's unacceptable.
How many open jumpers were we gonna give the kid? And we made Vince look like the old dominating Vince. I saw very little effort on the defensive end. And for us to be one of the best FT% teams in the league, why aren't we playing to our strength.
We had better get serious about these games or its a wrap!

The Mavs are what they are.
That's a mediocre, over the hill squad. Its a little reminiscent to what the Kings went though I guess.
Now the question is, do we continue to be mediocre? Or do we blow this thing up sooner rather than later to start the rebuilding process?
I'd go with option B. I'm not sure there's anything worse than being that team "right in the middle." A team that was once really good but either go old, lost confidence, traded away young talent... or in our case, all of the above.
I think ownership and the players alike still see themselves as contenders, but I think we're smart enough to know, that time has passed us. The league has evolved, while we have have not.
Now where do we start in the rebuilding process? That I don't know. I'd really, really hate to trade Dirk, but he'd without a doubt attain the most amount of value. Who knows where Josh's trade values at. And other than those two, do we really have a good tradeable asset on our team? Maybe Kidd or Stack with their huge expiring contracts, but I think we should hold onto those to start to get this cap situation more in our favor.

I agree that rebuilding would be the thing to do.
But I also have no doubt that Cuban thinks he can pull another Antoine for Jet, Antawn for Stack and Harris miracle out of his ass. Carlisle mentioned that in his inaugural press conference.
It's just not in the cards imho if you look at the roster pay structure. Blow it up, baby.

I peeked into the looking glass and saw a horrid reality of what we let go. I admit I was wrong, and quote me from this day on, Devin Harris trade was a failure. It is said that its better to be late to come to a conclusion than die a stubborn old man. I am officially a naysayer and a fish monger....

Unacceptable? Are you kidding? The Mavericks aren't NEARLY good enough anymore for us to call any loss "unacceptable." The Mavericks are f**king done. They are not contenders anymore. Period. Like twistaffect said, they're a mediocre, over-the-hill team.
If you can't handle a loss to New Jersey, then you'd better stop watching, because they're going to lose a hell of a lot more games before the season's over.

Yeah, and the Celtics weren't "over the hill" when they won their title.
I think I went to sleep and woke up in March.

It's interesting to see that the scoring and minutes of players like Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, and the big 3 in Boston declines, yet their teams records improve.
Kobe's best statistical years were with the worst Laker teams during his tenure.
Perhaps it's a bad omen that DIrk is scoring 26 ppg this year, and playing 39 minutes a game this year.
Its reflective in the record disparity betwen us and those teams, as well.

Dirk isn't a one man army...but he's in that ballpark when you compare his bench to those rosters.
The quality and quantity of the Lakers bench is pretty sick.
Denver's isn't that bad...Smith has the ability to be a star.
Boston has a lot of glue guys and some specialists that are actually really good at their special skill.
Cleveland...eh, not as favorable on their bench.

Anyone else notice that the less Carlisle plays and trusts the younger guys on the bench the more the Mavs lose?
Guys who put in at least one or two really great games during the winning streak like Wright & Green... and now even Barea who had 5 really great games... are no longer being played. They aren't even being given a chance.
Carlisle is morphing into Avery "I'm afraid to let young players make mistakes" Johnson.
Meanwhile, the old, slow, jumpshooting Mavs got their ass kicked tonight by a team composed almost entirely of young, inexperienced, mistake making players.
Hm. Food for thought.
GET GREEN AND WRIGHT OFF THE BENCH. There is no reason in the world that Devean George should be starting for this team. It's ridiculous. It's insulting to the fans. It's insulting to the other starters. Devean George is NOT BRUCE BOWEN. It's time the Mavs organization stopped pretending he is.
You're better off letting Green, Wright, and Singleton have those minutes... even if you lose, than you are letting Devean George have them. I don't care how well he plays, this team is never going anywhere with Devean George as the starter... so what the heck is the point in wasting those minutes on him?

My problem : I still think this team is skilled enough to play a good season. The problem might be a different one, but it´s not the roster.

that was a great game last night, in the 1st period I thought this could be a long night, but boy was I wrong I loved the Kidd got a good ovation, I would not call it a standing ovation since a lot of people were still sitting, but some were standing people up in front. The rest of the team mostly got boos besides Dirk who got mostly boos but some cheers as well. Anyone who thought this would be a easy game for the mavs was dumb , I mean Nets have not been great at home so you know they would come out to play better tonight since it was a important game a Kidds return to play against team and this is not the same Nets team was last year, they play better and work harder. Hope you all didn't think I was gone because I really needed to post after this game. I mean after all I have to thank the Mavericks after this game because it's the first game the Nets have won that I went to since they beat Raptors in the playoffs in 2007. so thanks mavs and

Why in heaven, is Donnie Nelson still the GM of this team? and who is the talent evaluator ot this team?
A quick sample
This team has not drafted a quality single player in the past 4 years.
Trading Harris for Kidd, I can live with it, but including 1st round picks (two of them) is just plain stupid
Trading Diop and signing him back for the MLE
Trading Diop and signing an out of shape and out of game Magliore, while the likes of PJ Brown and Ratliff sign with contenders.
Talent wise, I dont recall a trade were we had the upperhand in the last 4 years. (with the exception of Williams for E Jones)
Why are we unable to land a significant free agent ?

I guess you are seeing things the same way I do, this team is a joke and they are f*cking done. Get it in your heads mavs fans, THIS TEAM IS DONE. The Kidd trade has killed us, for all the people who wanted Kidd I hope you're happy now. I hope we blow this team up and rebuild all over again, but knowing Mark Cuban that probably won't happen.

I find it funny when people I talk to that like the mavs say the mavs need to rebuild. I think "well you have Mark Cuban I don't think you will ever reubuild" just because he is the type of person who wants a team to win and if he has a crappy team I think he might just have a heart attack

I wasn't talking to you in the posts above so I don't really care if you hated me before they lost, not like you really know me. I need some people in life to hate me because everyone who really knows me knows I'm cool and likes me, and you shouldn't use the word hate dislike is better

Hahah there are some strong characters on here, but its just a board and basketball is just a game. sometimes people dont have much better to do in life then have pointless arguments about stuff that will never really impact their real life in any way, compared to having just a good conversation.

This post as usual is stupid....the video is so f ing stupid. The band is lame. You are beyond lame.
You are beyond the shadow of a doubt the DEVEAN GEORGE of this board.
Pretty much no one besides a couple D Bags like you or your stupid posts.
How could you possibly feel wanted here?.. The only reason you post is to bait reply's like this. I mean you used to be more just silly goofy because you always made typos and never got any jokes made of you, Now you come bash the Mavs and Cuban while not even being a fan. Do you wonder why folks talk about you?

Actually this post by you calling me out on something that has nothing to do with you what so ever proves that you are probably the one that has that problem and you would be one of the people that I would include in that group. BUT as I have told you over the weeks that you your opinion is yours and at this point is useless to me soo yeee keep being an ASS ; )
