Salaries match, although Cuban would be taking on slightly more salary at least this year. Hunter is not worth his contract. It is essentually Diop, the big Denver wants to add for Kleiza, a young promising Swingman that can start with Howard........

Giving up our Backup-Center and having again stressful moments when Damp is in foultrouble or injuried for a backup Forward when we have Shawne and Bass?
Giving up also the chance to use Damps contract next year (the year before 2010).

Steven Hunter would be the back up center at that point. Denver wouldn't give up Kleiza for Diop though... would they? nooo

lol yeah i don't see why Denver would do the trade.
I'd rather keep Diop.
Our defense is already screwed up atm.

Actually.. The Nuggets haven't been shy about wanting to add a C/PF to the roster. Nuggets are looking to stay under the luxury tax though, so that will affect any move they make. Right now it looks like they're shopping Kleiza, Atkins and Hunter.

This isn't a bad idea, Hunter could be a serviceable backup center. It's not like Diop is playing that much, or that well, anyway. Kleiza gives us another offensive threat, could play the 2 or 3 and give us more size.
I like the trade, but I doubt the Nuggets do it.

Word on the street is that Steven Hunter is done -- can't play anymore with the various knee injuries that he has sustained. Do we really want to give up our only backup center for Kleiza, who plays at a position we are loaded at?

Unless "loaded" refers to quantity alone, I wouldn't say Dallas is "loaded" at the swing positions.

Nuggets are trying to get into financial sanity, with the Camby dump, and Iverson dump, they are just 990,000 over the threshold. Don't think Diop helps them.

I do mean quantity. Adding Kleiza just makes a lot of our existing players completely pointless to have.... so we can either have them sit and rot on the sidelines, or overhaul our bench so we neveer develop any chemistry.
I'm a big fan of roster balance (capability of being three-deep at every position, for a roster of 15).
