Dirk never shots it when he is wide open. He waits for the defender to come to him, then takes a shot

The reason why Green isn't playing is because Stack needs to be out there getting his sea legs back. Come on. Get with the program.

If Barea is a big part of playoff rotation, your team is probably in trouble.

I was just about to type this as well. He really has to have a balance between scoring and distributing. He has taken so many shots in these last possessions. I know its already a won game for the Mavs. However, its the chance for the bench players (Carroll and Singleton) to get some shots and rhythm. Its a little annoying.

I don't get why our 2nd unit plays like this when they get ample time to play. I know we are up by a lot but they should try to play well and make the best of the play time they rarely get.

Did you read that Green was almost traded by the deadline? It sounds like they're just about over him as you can be, Stack or no Stack. I'm sure that decision was made a while ago.

Like a guy who's well past his prime, is just getting over a foot injury, and who has barely sniffed competitive basketball for a good long while, now.

Sad thing about it is he looks better now than what he did before Carlisle benched him earlier in the year.

Seriously, why oh why do you harp on the same things over and over? I really don't get it...especially a game like tonight, you go ahead and pick out something like Stackhouse, really?!

You need to go back and re-read the thread then. I'm not hung up on anything. A guy asked why Green wasn't playing. I told him the reason. Because the Mavs BT wants to play Stack instead.
Is that not true?
It seems like you are the one hung up.

The past two games you've consistently made it a point to talk down on Stackhouse, every single game you harp about the 4th seed (previously saying the games were meaningless) but you still harp on it...
I'm not even that big of fan of Stack, you can go back to last year and I didn't think he played that well and he was given too many minutes. I figured a reduced role, like what he is getting now will be the best fit for him. It puts him in a better chance to succeed, that's the ultimate goal. Once Jet comes back, his minutes will probably even go down even more.
They want to play MULTIPLE people in front of Green, it's not just Stack. I also mentioned he was nearly traded at the deadline, they see him as expendable, the Green project is pretty much done for this year. It could have been because of Stack, it may not have been...there is nothing to support either decision. I did state thought that Carroll cut into minutes that Green could've had while Stack was gone...so as I said before, Green is SOL.

Sensitive, eh? I'll talk about the people on the floor during a game while in the gameday thread. If you don't like it then you can either not post, put me on ignore, or not read the thread.

And you seem to be harping on the same thing as well. You can read my thoughts on it in the Stack thread.

Green plays no defense and most of the guys on the team play defense, don't be surprised if Green is cut soon so make the Mavs can have a open roster spot to sign somebody for the final roster spot before the playoffs...I hope they sign Bobby Jackson if he get a buyout because JJ is gonna be a joke come playoff time.

That has definitely been Green trouble this year. He doesn't play defense. And on offense he takes away from the flow of the others.
Bobby Jackson does nothing for me. Barea is fool's gold because he will not be counted on to produce in the playoffs. But the Mavs need a big to play with Dirk. Bass and Dirk together will get exposed on the defensive end. And Damp can't be trusted to play 30+ minutes a night in the playoffs.

That's a good point about the cuts...it's possible it'll happen that they cut someone. They'll have to be pretty sure they can get that person though before they'll wanna go through the process of the cut. It seems like it's either Green or Williams that will get it.
I don't know how likely it will be though that someone will slip through the cracks that the Mavs would actually heavily consider. They'll look for big men but those are going to be going to the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, Cavs.

I think they'll be able to get away with it with at least half of the teams in the playoff picture. But it's the other half that really matters. We'll have to live with JJ for the season. I still think you can get in his head and tell him to control himself, it's going to be tough but it can be done. They've gotta find a big.

Many on the DB board think it will be Williams. That wouldn't surprise me. He hasn't played in about two months. Since George came back? Something like that.
Hopefully they'll sign Moore.

It's going to take a flood of C talent becoming available for us to have a shot at it I think. I really haven't heard of anything with guys other than Smith and Moore being free or going to get released.
Memphis seems like a team that would have an abundance of centers that could be cut. They're not the quick fix, but that's one place to start.
Edit: I think Washington and the Clippers are about it as well...I dunno, just a hunch.

Because there is a quick reply at the bottom of this page. I just right click, paste the posters words in the quick reply section... then put [ quote ] before their words and put [ /quote] after their words. I do that on every board I post at. Nothing personal on anyone. Just easier for me. Not sure why it bothers so many.

im surprised that there weren't more pages of posts for this GDT, but i guess i'm too blame as well cuz i watched from my bed and didn't contribute!! i honestly felt from the start that it was gonna be a decent ride for us, and i'm very glad to see it was.
last night's game, and that will be my final reference about it, was straight painful. i haven't hurt that much from a loss in a VERY long time. so tonight was nice to see, even with Dirk sittin the whole 2nd qtr and contributin only 12.
Singleton was friggin ON tonight, what a line! (19 + 12), and when i realized that JJ almost had a damn triple double i just about passed out! (9 + 8 + 7). i LOVE seeing things like that from our bench players. and i love that even tho it doesn't always turn out as a win, it seems many players are tryin to pick up the slack of Terry's injury, and spread the load. that is just amazing to watch sometimes.
and Bass in that first half?!? crazy!! and of course Kidd was on as he has been for many games now. overall i never felt that we were gonna let up the big lead, which was a damn RELIEF, and i was proud of our boys tonight, even if it were against a bottom west team with a few new players. TIME FOR THAT REP!!! LOVE YA'LL
GO MAVS!!!

It's definitely faster. And easier. But hey, to each his own.

Keep Shawne, drop Green, and sign Mikki.

exactly, our team faces a bigger problem in the paint than that we face at PG. Barea is not good enough to beat Parker or deron in the post season, but he can play some minutes at least. kidd will take 40 or some minutes/game in the post season, so barea's time will be very limited, not to mention JEt that can also play PG temporarily.
our team just has 3 players to play 4n5 spot, and one of them is a crap that takes 11m from our team. Bass has good awareness on both ends and pretty active in rebounding, but his size will limit his function and effect. Moore isn't worth his salary, but he is still a decent role player, it definitely will be a good thing if we can sign him with LLE after he got waived. then our rotation in the paint will be more flexible.
