Is dj going to get rep/green button/vbookie back up for Christmas?
I've been a good boy.

The top of my wishlist is the negative rep function.

when i try to edit my own post, i instead quote it, because they moved the G D button..So it ends up double posting.
Is anybody else doing that?

What is the significance of the numbers when I quote somebody? For example, using the quote above...
[ quote=MaVs 41 BaLler;953109]yes i do it i complained about it in the other thread[/quote ]
I noticed this a while back, but wasn't sure if it was a part of the new forum or just something I never noticed...

The numbers generate a link to the post being quoted, in the form of this

Gotcha...WOW, that is eye-opening.
This was a recent change? I'd feel less of an idiot if it was.

Question:
This question is mainly to DJ, but i'm sure the Mods would be interested in it as well. I joined glocktalk.com a few months ago. It's a forum dedicated to discuss Glocks and guns... Anyway, on that forum if you cuss, once you click 'submit' or 'post reply' it will post everything you wrote, except it will take the cuss word you posted and automatically change it to "*****" Like the other day i posted the word 'sh*t', (the word for poop, the begins with an S! ) Anyway, i posted the word just how i spelled it here, i literally posted it as "SH*T", and i clicked submit, then the forum automatically changed it to "*****". So i am assuming if you type in the F word, or other banned words that it would change them to "*****". Also the forum versions are the same for dallas-mavs.com and for glocktalk.com.
I just thought i would mention this because maybe it would make the jobs of the Mods easier, especially after a tough loss to the spurs or the suns...
I know U2 hates having to go clean up the mess in the game day threads....
the forum version of glocktalk.com is:

That kind of thing is up to dj, my friend. There's not really anything we lowly mods can do about it.

MavsX.... DJ was going to install a similar type app when we went to vBulletin many moons ago. That didn't come to fruition obviously, but it has been brought up since. I know I am greatly in favor of it. I'm certain sike would be too, but as for jthig, flac, and mary they enjoy cussing way too much to be against such a device. So it will be a death match between DJ, sike, myself vs. flac, jthig, mary. Keep your eyes out for the vbookie on that.

Pffft. Bring it.
For the record, I'm generally against word replacements filters. But I have no need to cuss, myself.

The last time we started a thread about cussing, something magical happened.
Anyway, I could go either way on that. People will just go out of their way to find creative ways to spell curse words. I'd like to think we can all articulate ourselves without the F bomb or sh!t. I still have uses for damn, crap and the occassional arse. Words you can say on the radio.
(I rest my case)

Well when you are the only active moderator during a stretch of games where the Mavs don't play well and the board is inundated with responses that border on an X rating (and I understand those filters don't/can't check images) with extreme cussing I think you would change your thinking on support of such a hack. In cases like that any help would have been greatly appreciated.
I also know, thankfully, that type of environment no longer exists.

I edited a fair share of posts last night. Nothing too bad though.
I would welcome a filter, so long as said filter was customizable to a degree.

The stars forum I use has a filter. The one and only thing it does is change the F bomb to "fook".

I wasn't calling you out. I usually browse using my iphone and this site keeps crashing it. And it's only this site which leads me to believe it has a lot to do with the large signatures.

The sponsored links on these forums are weird. I've seen a condom one and then just now I saw an ESPN/NBA.
