Yea. Knock down shots, relieve pressure from a dbl whether its swing the ball or shoot it, mitigate mistakes on offense while being agressive. Play your ass off on defense.
Imo, last night, those 3 posessions where he failed twice back to back, but then learned from it immediately and drained the open 3 from the very next double on Luka was pretty damn big. He has confidence and Luka can trust him, have to hope to see that going forward.

Also think Exum being hurt changes thins as well. If he was healthy, then it would be easier to move on from Green. But will Exum ever be healthy? Guy is made of glass.

Exum is icing. Whatever we get from him is extra. He isnt proven yet even if he were healthy. Its funny how things play out. If Exum never got hurt thrn we might not have seen Green re-emerge. Either way, Idk that it would have been a good idea to trust Exum enough to let go of Green.
For all we know, Green could miss a cpl weeks with a random elbow injury all the sudden.

Loving the activity and commentary, let's see if they do something...
Giving up the 1st rounder for the rumored guys isn't the play, as much as I want to improve and win now. Kuzma and Washington are not worth that and don't move it enough for me.
If I were Nico, I'd be homing in on guys like Portis, Gafford, Drummond, Stewart, Boucher, Olynyk...I think that's all who have been mentioned here, could be missing one.
The team needs size and rebounding. Stewart actually fits the timeline really well with his extension and the ability to provide minutes at both the 4 and the 5. Not to mention his toughness and willingness to fight for rebounds. Mavs really only seem to have Powell be consistently active on the boards, albeit to lesser success.
Get me height/length and rebounding. Defense and everything else will come around enough but get me those extra possessions and time with the ball.

Olynyk would be a sneaky decent pick up
couple guys that we missed out on that were discussed previously - hartenstein back when he was still a relative nobody. And Theis who was let go but is a smart hard nosed vet - would have been a nice get. Damn the bar is low to improve on Powell, isn't it?

Luka broken nose
Lively broken nose
Kleber broken nose
Powell scratched/bruised cornea
Are Mavs just bird-boned or do the refs just completely swallow their whistle because they hate Luka

Xavier Tillman is such a good pickup. Imagine having the Celtics front office stacking talent everywhere.

Would love to add Patrick William's to that.
Maybe Hardy/Holmes/2nd for PWill/Drummond would have a chance.

Woj- Mavs pivoting to PJ Washington as Kuzma talks not going anywhere.
This is my opinion, but I feel this is using the media to negotiate for Kuzma. Mavs likely won't give up Green or a first for Washington, but they might for Kuzma. It's all about the assets.

Miles Bridges refuses to sign off on any trade. Staying with Charlotte and becoming a FA
Hornets asking too much for PJ
This could be a dusty fart of a TDL

If they do nothing, its potentially setting up giving Jkidd a pass. "Oh we were injured and no trade deadline deals made sense for us...and we like our boys in blue." Go ahead and lock him in until at least mid season next year at minimum.

Those are all solid vets and play much bigger than Powell, somehow. On Theis, seemed like that was a back channel deal to the Clippers all along. It was kinda not fair since he'd be perfect here lol

GAFFORD IS OURS
Holmes and draft compensation
Depending on if its a FRP or 1-2 SRPs, that's a great deal. Gafford is a fabulous fit in theory.

Gafford is an insane pickup. Love all the bs smoke screens with PJ Washington. Nico knew we needed a backup center. Bravo.

Can confirm
@wojespn
report that the Mavs and Wizards have agreed to parameters of a deal for Daniel Gafford. A significant an needed upgrade for center depth, but I?m told Mavs still very motivated to get wing help.

PPG - 10.9 (FG 69%, FT 70%)
RBG - 8.0
APG - 1.5
BPG - 2.2
SPG - 2.2
Good numbers for crappy team - has the skill set we need though - rebounding and defense.

Absolutely shocked about Gafford for Holmes and draft compensation. It will be interesting to see what the Mavs gave up.

Biggest winner? Powell.
Powell is one of the best 3rd stringers in the NBA. He can finally be that for us with a solid 1-2 rotation.
Hopefully Gafford will play Saturday against the Thunder
