No, didn't he drain one @LAC 3 seasons ago? Right before the Finals run.

No, Dirk's had his share of buzzer beaters.

Remember the 3 against Utah?

I love games like this. The Mavs: 1) get a win, 2) get more confidence that they can come back when playing crappy, and 3) get a nice reminder that you can't let your guard down at the end of a game.

Right, the baby that had won 7 in a row, including wins over Houston, Atlanta, Portland and San Antonio.

I literally saw nothing but Dirk's shot today, (I would have an afternoon meeting the ONE day the Mavs play a day game!!!). I need report from people on how Hollins and Carolll looked.

Carroll looked like nothing, but he barely played. Hollins looked like an athletic freak who was probably our 5th or so best player today.

@LAC he hit the shot with 0.7 left.
vPHX there was 1.3 left.
vUTA there was 0.9 left.
vTOR there was 1.0 left.

This is his first actual "buzzer beater" with 0.0 left.

Carroll played 2 minutes, had a block, took no shots.

Hollins made a few stupid plays (missed a dunk), ended up with 5 fouls, but played very, very good inside defense. Also had a dunk and an alley-oop.

Yeah, you're right. .7 seconds. And there was 1 second left against Utah last year.

This may have been his first "true" buzzer beater, now that you mention it.

I take it, I take it...on the road againts a team with a 5 game winning streak...I take it!!

we were the dogs, and Dirk really didn't play well.

How about Josh on the bench down the stretch with Hollins and Wright in the court, and the game on the line...something is not right.

VIVA LOS MAVS!!

I'm thinking of that ridiculous 3 Dirk hit in the playoffs a few years ago against Memphis.

Its not a buzzer beater if there is still time on the clock after the shot.

I'm almost certain Dirk has never had an actual buzzer beater...just lots of game winning shots that left little time on the clock.

Hollins line certainly doesn't suggest "5th or so best player", but that can be deceiving. I look forward to watching this tonight.

Well we did it... not sure if this silences the critics just yet... but we finally beat a winning team on a hot streak. Eventhough that 4th qtr meltdown was indicative of our troubles, i'll take it!

Didn't Dirk hit a 3 at the end of game 3 vs Memphis in 2006? I guess I thought that was a buzzer beater.

He had more of an impact than anyone besides Kidd, Terry and Dirk. He may have even been the 4th best. He altered a bunch of shots, had a ridiculous block, and had a clutch alley oop dunk with 3 minutes or so left in the 4th.

No. That was in regulation, only for a tie, and it was with like 10 or so seconds left. After that, Chucky Atkins missed a layup that would have won it.
