Wow. There will never be another Dirk. Just amazing how ridiculously humble he is.

I thought the same thing. Dirk almost went 50/40/90 last year. I'm curious to see who the 20 better players are.

I'm not sure if this video has ever been posted in here. It's from this year's spring. If it was already discussed on this board, respectively this thread, the mods should feel free to delete it.
It was on the Conan Show, Dirk was doing a "Texas citizenship" test with him. Very funny, laughed my butt off.
See here.

It's been posted somewhere, but worth watching again. Very funny stuff. I love Dirk both in uniform and just as a smart, funny, humble dude.

BLOODY RED.

I wonder if any starting lineup around Dirk Nowitzki has made things so easy for him. I won't suggest that Jameer Nelson is the best starting point guard that he has had. He is somewhere behind Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Nick Van Exel, and potentially Jose Calderon. Regardless of the fact, I like what I am seeing from him.
Then there is Monta Ellis. He was absolutely fantastic last season. 19 PTS, 3.6 TRB, 5.7 AST, 1.7 STL, and 0.3 BLK per game. He easily topped O.J. Mayo's season in Dallas, and Michael Finley didn't put up 19 PPG since 2002-03. Josh Howard put up over 19 PPG only one season while in Dallas in 2007-08.
The best big small forward to play next to Dirk has to be Antawn Jamison during a season most Mavs fans want to forget. That shall change this season with Chandler Parsons.
And we all know how Tyson Chandler can perform in a Mavs uniform! This season will be one for the ages.

Dirk Nowitzki — One-Legged Fadeaway
Dirk’s one-legged fadeaway is a special sort of move; the kind of move that’s so inextricably linked with its owner that just the outline of it — with Dirk’s features grayed out — would still be recognizable. One, perhaps two hard dribbles, a half-spin, then a pivot away from the defender and a balletic hop off the back foot. Swish. It’s the most singular signature move in the game, and, combined with Dirk’s 7-foot frame, totally unstoppable. Whether he misses or not is in the hands of the basketball gods. Dirk and his fadeaway went through the 2011 playoffs like the hero in a martial arts movie fighting an entire dojo, culminating in a 48-point masterpiece against OKC in the Western Finals. Dirk drew fouls on practically the entire Thunder team. He went on to win a title over the newly formed “not one, not two” Miami Heat. The greatest testament to the devastating effectiveness of Dirk’s signature move? Its imitation by those who have felt its wrath.

Heh..
"Sticky at crunch time: The Mavericks forced seven turnovers and allowed the Pelicans to shoot just 22.2 percent (4-of-18) in the fourth quarter. After a dismal third quarter, they ratcheted up the defense and they drew three offensive fouls. Even Dirk Nowitzki got into the act, although he couldn’t really take credit for the charge he took. “I just couldn’t get out of the way quick enough,” he joked."

Very nice post over at dm.com
http://www.sixthmanjournal.com/2014/...less-jumpshot/
snippet:
In the unforgiving world of professional basketball, very few things can be called timeless. Dirk Nowitzki’s effortlessly majestic jump shot is one of those few. It is absurdly efficient, and each and every shot is a beauty to behold.
Although Dirk possesses a versatile arsenal of weapons, it is fair to say that his jump shot trumps them all. It has elevated him to MVP honours, championship glory and an irrefutable standing as one of the all time greatest scorers.
The Mavericks should be everybody’s go to league pass team this season. At various stages through four games, I have found myself recalling the unadulterated brilliance of their team basketball in the 2011 Finals; the seamless ball movement around the perimeter, capacity to rain in an avalanche of threes, and Tyson Chandler’s electrifying presence.

Dirk is only 78 points away from passing Hakeem for #9. Less than 400 after that to pass Elvin and Moses.

What do you think of Dirk's chances to make the all star game this year? I know Cousins is going to have a great year and the Kings actually look pretty good, but with Love gone I could see the coaches voting to send Dirk off with one more all star game if he averages around 20 ppg on a good %. 13 years of all stars would be amazing.
