Lakers now top contender in Dwight sweepstakes, with the Nets totally out of it possibly helps the Mavericks marginally. Still, I think Deron will make the poor decision and re-up with them. Enjoy mediocrity if he does.

The collusion arguments go out the door as time goes on.
You can then spin it how you want. Deron couldn't wait to go to Dallas and leave that rotten franchise but now Brooklyn is making it interesting with their pitch and moves and now he needs more time to digest. Deron was pretty sure he was resigning for cash and the move to Brooklyn but Dallas' pitch is making him reconsider and he needs more time to digest.

I see it like this.
Deron decided already to stay in NJ, but the longer he waits the more money NJ will spend for his supporting cast. Deron wants to keep them in a desperate/aggressive mode as long as possible. If he wanted to go to DAL, he would have announced it already and it would give us more time to build a solid team around him and Dirk.
