Deron is just waiting for nets to trade for dwight. We wont hear anything until late tomorrow. Hopefully dwight lands in LA or somewhere else.

Is it even possible for them to trade for Dwight at this point?
They just used MLE and traded for Evans

I thought JET would get a 7 to 8 million dollar deal. To get him for the mid-level is a nice bargain for the Celtics.

The man is really old. 3 years at 5 per is reasonable. He will be barely serviceable in year 3 (38 years old).

Unless I'm completely missing something (and DLord and other very smart cap people also) they can't trade for Dwight at this point unless they reneg on at least one deal they've already agreed to.

I have no idea how they could possibly trade for Dwight with their hard cap, and it's even less likely if Orlando really wants somebody to take on JRich or Hedo.
Unless Deron agrees to take like $6M under max for this year (which would affect later years too since you can only backload so much), it seems pretty much impossible. Maybe thig can chime in.

Nets get Reggie Evans via SnT. They are rushing like they have Deron on the cusp.

JET keeps himself in superb shape. He'll be able to play at a pretty high level through out this contract. The problem here is that Dallas has been leaning too much on JET due to not having any other guys to carry the load. In a more limited role JET at 5 million is a bargain.

That doesn't really track logically. The more reduced role, the less he's worth.
There's no role currently available that makes Jet a "bargain" at 5 Mil. I think it's a fair value for this year, maybe next.
But the first part of your statement is very correct. The Mavs are in a position that they need to acquire dynamic talent. They can't chew up their cap for multiple years for complimentary pieces.

Jet is valuable when he takes (and makes) many shots. I fear "limited role" does not work with him.

What is Reggie Evans going to do?
I'm not sure what they are doing...

For those that don't know who Jerrance Howard is, just Google it. I don't feel like explaining it.

I think he'll still be in 6th man of the year contention next year and still be a solid scorer the following year but at 37, it's hard to see him being anything but an outside spot up shooter at 15 minutes per game. Ray is another guy who has been awesome in his conditioning but the upper 30s is a rare place for an undersized shooting guard to play well.
I hope he plays well though. He deserves this deal.

He played at Illinois with Deron and coached in Illinois according to what I found

It's technically impossible for the Nets to trade for Howard now.

Im reading all of this as Deron's staying in NY but knows he's letting a lot of people down
in Dallas and is struggling to them so.
I think they(Deron, Wife, agent) chose $ and NY

Which stance did he take - Brooklyn or Dallas?

Gotta think it's good, at least in effort if not result.
I.e.--Doesn't mean Deron is coming here, but it sounds like he definitely talked to him about why it'd be a good idea.

I don't see the exasperation at all. Of course, it's incredibly difficult to parse out a few words on the internet with no tone, but "!!!!" certainly doesn't read like an exasperated person. Sounds like somebody who's excited that he got to contribute to the cause.

It probably doesn't even pertain to Deron... you're worse than the media at over-speculation!

I'm cool with it, frankly. At this point, I'm just glad to know that Deron is obviously seriously mulling it over. If he ultimately chooses the Nets, I think that's the bad basketball choice, but so be it.
