Ibaka suspended for one game, meaning he will play against Mavs. Bodes well for those of us hoping for a better draft position.

@FiveThirtyEight: James Harden gets fouled on 3s more than any NBA team. Yes, we meant team. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...cid=538twitter

Booker scored 70 tonight.
40 FGA's and 26 FTA's.
Suns lost.

Booker is a real deal scorer, but they were sitting quite a few guys. Still, 70 points is awesome. Just weird seeing the Suns super excited over a loss.

52% shooting on field goals is still not bad. His free throw shooting was top notch at 92.3%.
If he manages another 60+ point game in his career he joins some prestigious company. Only 4 players have managed to do that: Wilt Chamberlain (32 times), Kobe Bryant (6 times), Michael Jordan (5 times), and Elgin Baylor (4 times). Currently, 24 players have managed 60+ point games.
In regards to 70+ point games there have been 11 of them by Wilt Chamberlain (6 times), Kobe Bryant, David Thompson, Elgin Baylor, David Robinson, and Devin Booker. Should Devin Booker manage this feat again then he's done something that only Wilt Chamberlain has managed to do by scoring 70+ points multiple times. This is the beginning of Booker's story. Hopefully, this won't be a one-time performance.

Epic loss by the Clippers last night, blowing an 18-point lead in the last 5 minutes to the Kings...
@ESPNStatsInfo: Teams Leading by 18+ Points in Final 5 Minutes - This Season
Wins 359
Losses 1 (Clippers)
@vincentkjohnson: Overall in the last 20 seasons, teams were 6,746-1 with the only loss in that span being the '12-13 Bobcats vs Blazers.

I dont think this 70pt game makes or breaks his career, but in the 4th quarter, at least what I got to watch, was garbage. 70 points is 70 points though.

70 is impressive, but that game was awful. Suns were on full tank mode. Celtics were blowing the Suns out and didn't even care to defend him.
Big points in a blowout loss are still points, but A) one or two big games don't make you a star or Roddy "droppin' 40 on the Warriors" Beaubois would be an all-star and B) big numbers in a lopsided loss are less impressive than big numbers in a close game or win.

The counter to that argument would be that you have plenty of those games each season, yet only a few players ever scored 70. But I get what you're saying.
On another note, I really dislike this year's MVP race. I can't recall a class with multiple players actually playing for the trophy and actively lobbying for themselves that hard. Maybe I have a wrong perception, but imho in recent years, it just happened. There never was so much talk about it. This time it's pretty unique though and lobbying might be needed to push you over the top in a close race.
If Westbrook averages that triple double, that's a no-brainer for me no matter how good Harden performed.

Jusuf Nurkic after a beast line (33 pts, 16 reb, 2 ast, 3 blk) against the Nuggets, who traded him to the Blazers prior to the deadline: "I wish those guys a happy summer."

Agree with you about MVP race. I see Booker's "accomplishment" in a similar light though. The Suns are actively tanking, have won 22 games and were taking pictures smiling after the game they lost. Booker already has a rep for his attitude. His response to Crowder, love that Crowder called him out, was "you can't guard me". So? You haven't elevated your team in any way! It's a young team but not exactly bereft of talent. At least Harden and Westbrook are winning- even if all the while clearly stat hunting.

Still cannot believe they got the 1st round pick as well out of that deal! So backwards. Plumlee is a nice enough player but its just absurd.

Four double-doubles in each of his first three seasons.
Already 8 double-doubles in the 19 games with the Blazers
Averaging 15-10-3-2-1

Both the East and West have losing teams in the playoffs this year. It's getting harder and harder to truly compete at the top level in the league especially if the trend of multiple stars per team continues. It may very well be that if you only have a single legit star player, then the best you can hope for is an OKC/Houston type scenario.

It's an interesting development for sure. I always thought the competitive balance in the NBA is trash for multiple reasons, but East vs. West for sure is a major culprit. It's not only that the East is worse, the conference is worse while having the far easier schedule in each and every year.
https://espn.go.com/nba/stats/rpi/_/sort/SOS
The first east team is tied with the Lakers at 13... It's a joke.

A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) shows Portland center Jusuf Nurkic has a non-displaced right leg fibular fracture. Will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Sucks for Portland. He's been beasting since the trade.

Lol at Kyrie' "enforcer" act. Protecting LeFlop. If it was that easy to knock LeBron down he'd be down 100x a game. Note to Kyrie, pushing a guy in the back out of bounds and then dancing away isn't tough.

Rose is inured? What are you going to tell me next? Parsons is injured? Sixers suck? Adam Silver wearing ladies' undies under his suit when he's on TV?

Guys like Parsons and Hernangomez on the list as well as recently traded Ibaka and Tobias Harris from last year. DFS makes the list as well. Wesley Matthews.... nowhere to be seen.

Wow, the Cavs just blew a 26-point 4th quarter lead to lose the game in O/T.

Gotta say I used to hate Westbrook and Harden. Still can't stand the beard because of his style, but now that the Mavs and OKC are not exactly rivals any longer, feels good for the turtle. In the end he committed to the Thunder when "others" left although you could make a valid case that he might not if the lesser Dirk had stayed.
Hope Westbrook gets that MVP. Harden seems to know he's beat and is crying as loud as he can without dissing RWB
