I think Pho had to get rid of him because their owner is scared to death of the luxary tax, not because they didn't believe in his talent.

The Boston Mavs ?! I am in shock in what Atlanta has done. Could this be anything like what GS did last year?

Bibby decided to finally arrive in Atlanta
Horford isn't afraid of anything (similar to Bass)
Boston looks like they are wearing out against the younger, much more athletic team in JJ and Josh Smith.
When ZaZa headbutted KG, you Atlanta had their hearts in it.

Unbelievable! I couldn't believe my eyes. Hawks won again. I thought this series would go at most 5 games. Now its tied 2-2. Amazing. The athleticism of the Hawks is really paying dividends against Boston. Joe Johnson has been playing like an All Star. Bibby has stepped up. Childress, Hortford and Josh Smith have all been great as well.
Now the great challenge: to win in Boston. If they win game 5, oh boy...

to make matters worse, DJ Mbenga just had two monster dunks over Camby in the 2nd quarter.

I'm impressed with the Hawks. If they could only play like that in Boston they would have a chance for an upset. Horford is a beast and Joe Johnson is stepping up big time. What I wouldn't give to have Josh Smith on this team though.

I'd LOVE to see the lowly Hawks ruin Stern's wet dream of a Lakers/Celtics Finals...

What would be the bigger choke: the Mavs last year losing to Golden State or Celtics this year to the Hawks?

definitely the Celtics losing to the Hawks.
Number one, the Celtics were said to be champions even before the season started. And they won a ridiculous amount of games to prove they are good.
Number two, the Hawks? I had no idea they were even good enough to make the playoffs (i know it's the east), let alone give the Celtics a run for their money (and possibly beat them!)
number three, everybody knew the Warriors were way better than an 8th seed that year. They were as good as a 4th seed probably, they just had players hurt and stuff for the first half of the season.
hopefully the Hawks win. That would surely take a whole lot of heat of the Mavs for choking. I think the Hawks would become one of my favorite teams after that lol.

Celtics with their Boston Three Party losing to a team that was 8 games under .500? That would be a bigger disparity in W-L than Mavs v GSW..but we were the first to do it..so it hurts more for us.
Either way. Lets see it happen.

I don't care if we are the first one to do it, as long as we're not the only one. I don't see a chance like this happening for a long time: a 60+ team tied 2-2 with a 8th seed. Could go either way depending on Game 5.

Game 5 in BOS is going to be pretty interesting. If Atlanta doesn't play scared and really gives it their all, they could have a chance to steal it.
If they somehow win that game, Game 6 is going to be an EPIC game.

Denver and Dallas may blow it up this summer.
The only player on their roster I would make move for is Najera

Denver has a chance to really get some rebuilding chips if they have a fire sale...You've got Melo, AI, Camby, KMart. That's some meat right there.

Melo and Camby, sure, but no one is going to trade for the privelege of paying $15-$16 million a season to KMart and his knee specialist .

I'm beginning to think that with the absurd player movement and coaching turnover in the league, teams with youth and atheleticism have an automatic advantage. It's because the things that veterans excell at--team defense, ball movement, etc.--get nullified when they're constantly on new teams with new coaches. The exception here is the Spurs, of course, but I wonder if we're not seeing the result of this in Atlanta right now.

Kleiza is good, young, and has size... he's just not my type of player.
BTW, Najera happens to a be a FA this summer.
However, I would not pay him the 4.95 million he made this year.

I'd love to have Najera back here. He brings a lot of energy and if nothing else would annoy Murphy.
The Spurs-Suns game should be interesting tonight. Duncan's favorite ref is the lead. Will Joey Crawford try anything?

will KG be suspended a game for pushing the ref?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKsS-3j9sfg
he obviously pushed him... will stern go with his 'letter of the law' or w/e... or will he pass it off as some BS and continue rigging.

he definitely did push the ref away. But at the same time, i'm not sure if the ref. has a right to grab a player like that. Not defending KG or anything.....

Refs absolutely have the right to grab a player. I doubt KG gets suspended, but it's possible.

Marvin Williams left the bench.
Kendrick Perkins left the bench.
If they don't get suspended, Phoenix should annex from Stern's league.

Are you talking about at the beginning? come on.. they were just standing right next to the bench. That's allowed. People stand during play all the time.
When STAT got suspended he had charged like 10-12 feet.

If I remember correctly..Amare got up and charged then realized what he was doing and quickly turned back.
I haven't seen clips but did Marvin Williams / Kendrick Perkins get up fast or were they standing there nonchalantly?

Two seconds of watching this suns-spurs game makes me so jealous. They make us look like a college team. (not based on age of course).
