Suns stole one from rockets, Harden a game low -27 +- and only had 5 free throws. I'm sure it's unrelated though....*cough*

injuries hitting at bad time for Portland and OKC.
AND THIS NOTE:
Kobe only played in 35 games, but still leads Lakers in shot attempts through 66 games.

Can the league keep surviving having two conferences that are total opposites? It's just an insult that you can be ten games under .500 in the east and still be in the playoff conversation. We would be third in the east which is shocking considering how the team has played since ASB.

The thing is, the way the lottery is structured it artificially helps the west long term. First the western teams records are artificially depressed by played 68% of their games against the west when every western team but the clippers has a better record against the east then the west while the east's records are artificially inflated for the inverse reason. The biggest issue though is that teams like phoenix, new orleans(though im not sure if they will keep their pick) and utah which would all make the playoffs in the east get lottery picks to improve their young cores while teams like boston who would have no prayer at the playoffs are taken out of the lottery by being in the terrible east.
If new orleans somehow clevelands and wins the lottery despite the long odds, that team will be horrifying for years.(assuming the pick is protected enough they would get it)

As good as Atlanta is, I would be some degree of terrified if Paul George comes back at full strength.

If you ever feel bad about our crappy FT shooting, just look up Clint Capela's FT shooting.
0-15 for 0% shooting this year. ZERO PERCENT.

Just a random observation regarding LeBron, who has been mostly excellent throughout the year:
PPG: 25.6, lowest since his rookie year
FG%: 49.0%, lowest since 08-09
3PT%: 35.4%, lowest since 10-11
FT%: 71.5%, lowest since 07-08
RPG: 6.0, lowest since his rookie year
SPG: 1.6, tied for lowest of his career
All of that, and he's still unquestionably one of the top 5 players in the league, but his decline is very real. I've never really been a fan of his, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how his game develops as he ages more and loses his freakish athleticism and has to play an even more cerebral game.

OKC vs NOP will be interesting-- at least until they are murdered by GSW.
Both teams are 42-36
NOP is 5-5 in last 10
OKC is 4-6 in last 10
Upcoming schedule:
NOP
Suns 4/10
@ Rockets 4/12
@ Timberwolves 4/13
Spurs 4/15
OKC
Kings 4/10
@Pacers 4/12
Blazers 4/13
@Wolves 4/15
NOP has the tougher schedule, but holds the tie breaker. OKC has the easier schedule by far.
Hard to bet against OKC, but it could get interesting.

I'm not as excited about the race for the last spot because of this. They fight for five more games tops.
In my opinion the West isn't as wide open as it was in recent years. Maybe the Spurs and to a lesser extent us might be able to outsmart them, but not even the Rockets and wannabe MVP Harden are even close of beating them in a series.

So ray Allen's run as the greatest shooter ever didn't last very long(if it ever existed) Steph is as clearly the greatest shooter ever as anyone else is the best anything else ever.

My take right now is that the Spurs and Clippers have the best shot at stopping the Warriors from going to the NBA Finals. I'd still bet on the Warriors prevailing though.

Depends on whether the Spurs 4/15 has any meaning for the Spurs. Pacers are fighting for a spot and wont be an easy win for OKC

each ref at that game should be fined for not calling this.

And Silver better do something with these ridiculously terrible refs. It's definitely a league-wide issue that doesn't seem to be addressed.

What is Erik Spoelstra doing?
http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/...ht-terrors-wtf
Is he...
- Fighting off an invisible swarm of bees?
- Trying to dance like Elaine from Seinfeld?
- Calling a timeout?
- Battling a voodoo curse?
- Playing the worst game of charades ever?
- Practicing Tae Bo?
- Night terrors?
- Playing Wii Tennis, minus a Wii?

Yes, but the guy we did draft was traded to get Tyson back, so who's to say we wouldn't have had to throw in Giannis in the same trade?

Westbrook scores 54 points on 43 (43!) shots. In the process he picks up his 16th technical of the year and must sit out one game. That certainly won't help their chances of making the playoffs.

Well after the all Game 1's the only team that impressed me were the Clippers.
If they can hold that level of defense they will be tough to beat.
Atl and Cavs were horrible given that they already see themselves in the final.
Golden State looked great for times but nearly let the Game slip away.
Rest of the Games were kind of sluggish.

Yeah, first round was pretty rough. Lots of teams that were dominant in the regular season but only the Clippers looked like champions so far.

Rough. He seemed like a decent coach. They just missed the playoffs because of injuries. I'd definitely give him a look if Carlisle leaves.

Brooks is a terrible, terrible coach. Has no idea who to play or how to set up a play on offense. Thunder should become co-favorites in the West next year just for losing him. If Carlisle's playing chess, Scott Brooks is playing tiddlywinks.

Has there been any other season when playoff teams were that injured as they are now? If OKC would've gotten in, the injury list would've been a mile long.
About Brooks; if Dallas is tanking/rebuilding through draft, I wouldn't mind having a look at him. I wouldn't sign him to win a title but he could be better at developing young players than RC.
I wouldn't be too worried if Carlisle goes to OKC. He'd have Durant sitting in the corners waiting for 3PT attempts.

Pelicans lose in OT after choking away a 20-point lead in the 4th.
