LOL. I hate when teams do that. Cowboys don't do it much but I never understand why teams go into what looks like a goal line defense where there's no help. Everytime they do it they get burnt for a TD. And by Lendale White? I remember one of Felix td runs was against a similar defense. Just seems like trouble.

You may be right. But i'd prepare for a 10 win team to possibly miss out on the playoffs if things continue the way they are. As a Cowboy fan, I have it in my head we can't lose more than 5 games to get in the post season. At 10 games we'll probably be in last game hoping for a team to lose or for a horrible team to take out one of our competitors.

Ahm. Giants - Steelers 4 th quarter box shows only a TD and a FG, but 12 points for the quarter. How is this possible ?
I mean TD + RG should be 10 pts

Giant's 'scored' a safety.
Steelers' backup long snapper snapped it overhead and into the endzone for a safety.

Man, anyone see Singletary's press conference after the Niner's game? Inspiring. Love his attitude.

He's got a right to be that upset. He played with a no-nonsense Bears team. When a young overpaid player acts a fool...he has to set him and the team straight.
Props to him, he did the right thing.
This got mentioned as well:
He also said that Davis attempted to talk to him after the game, but that he told his tight end, "You don't want to talk to me right now."

seriously, what the hell has Davis done to warrant being such a prima-donna? NOTHING except being drafted higher than he should have been. I drafted the guy the past 2 years in Fantasy, so I should know.
Love to see that from Singletary. That's refreshing.

More frequently than the Detroit QB running out the back of the endzone trying to avoid a sack...

Look at the ATROCIOUS stat line the Oakland offense has put up at the half:
9 yards passing
5 yards rushing
down 24-0

Leftwich looks good.
1. That pisses me off because we don't have a backup quarterback that is worth anything.
2. That makes me really happy because Pitt will be helping us out a lot if they beat Washington tonight.

This is a nasty defensive game.

Yea Byron did look good. Probably the best he's looked in a couple of years. Let's see if he can duplicate that performance next week because looks like he's going to be the starter.

Raiders expected to release Pro Bowl CB Hall on Wednesday
By Chris Mortensen and John Clayton
ESPN.com
Updated: November 4, 2008, 9:27 PM ET
Angered by the team's horrible 2-6 start, Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis asked his front office staff to explore the possibility of releasing several players, including cornerback DeAngelo Hall, according to multiple sources.
The Raiders are expected to release Hall on Wednesday, sources told ESPN's Michael Smith.
The process started on Monday, a day after the Raiders' embarrassing 24-0 loss to the Falcons. Davis, looking ahead to rest of the season and to 2009, asked his staff to study a list of potential players who could be let go after the season or before the end of the week, sources said. One source said the list included more than a dozen names. The staff studied the cap consequences of releasing high-priced veteran players. He also wanted his staff to check to see if other teams might claim any of these players on waivers.
The team was planning on making the move to release Hall on Tuesday before holding off, according to NFL.com. The Raiders will have paid Hall $8 million for eight games, and the Raiders also gave Atlanta a second-round pick for his services.
NFL.com reported the move to waive him now helps the Raiders avoid paying Hall $16 million worth of injury-guaranteed bonuses in his contract.
Hall has 48 tackles and three interceptions for the Raiders, including a season-high eight last week against the Falcons.
Hall isn't the only Raider under consideration for release. Wide receiver Javon Walker received an $11 million signing bonus and a $1 million base salary this year, but he has only 13 catches in his first seven games with the Raiders. The other players on Davis' list are unknown.
At his Monday press conference, interim Raiders coach Tom Cable said he was thinking of making more changes in the starting lineup. Since taking over for Lane Kiffin, Cable has benched wide receiver Ronald Curry and safety Michael Huff. If Davis gets his way, some changes might be permanent.
Chris Mortensen is a senior NFL analyst for ESPN. John Clayton covers the NFL for ESPN.com. ESPN's Michael Smith contributed to this report.

Do you look into it if you're Jerry? He's overrated. I agree. But he's another body at the corner spot. Especially if Pac-Man has seen his last days. I probably don't though. I'd just go with the younger guys at this point and hope Scandrick and Jenkins hit their potential. I think the last thing the Cowboys needs is a cocky cornerback who thinks he's better than he really is. But what a joke Oakland is. They just gave him this big contract and gave away their 2nd round pick for this guy.

If he get's hurt, 16 million dollars of guaranteed money will be required to give to Hall. That pretty much takes us out of the "re-sign Demarcus Ware" plan.
No to Hall.

He still has that clause in his contract even after getting released? And that doesn't count towards the salary cap does it?

His contract remains intact if you claim him off waivers. As far as the salary cap I have no idea.

So if he clears waivers, do we do it? I just want to be able to move Henry to the safety spot, and we can't do that with TNew hurt.

Oh I didn't know that. Well I doubt anyone claims him. Colts could use him but I doubt they take on that contract.

Yeah, Peterson put on quite a show in that game.
In fact, that dominant performance just gave him the league lead in rushing yardage.

By the way, does anyone else look at that 47-3 shellacking the Jets put on the Rams and get even more embarrassed by our loss to the Rams? Seriously, the Rams suck.
