Brunson taking over in the fourth, about to put away Philly for good. He was a top 10 player in the league this year, and he's the #1 scorer in the entire playoffs so far.
Does anyone still think he wasn't worth an extra 5 mil a year or whatever the hell it was? Smh.

So badly want the Sixers to win ugh.
Uh, I said Brunson was worth 30+ and some people thought I was nuts.

I'm trying not to sweat it too much because Kyrie has been awesome for us. But damn, Brunson is 5 years younger, plus we gave up serious assets to get Kyrie.

Last time Rick won a playoff series, the Mavs won a championship
Mavs second championship confirmed

I think Brunson is kinda like the Nash situation. He was never going to be the player he is now playing with Luka. But damn it hurts knowing they lost him for nothing. I?ve liked Brunson since college, so I?m happy for the guy. Wish the whole situation of him leaving had been handled better, but it?s in the past.

Difference is Nash gave the Mavs the opportunity to match...Brunson didn't.
His sights were set on NY for a while. That's the right of a free agent.
I'm happy for his success.

Yeah
Nash - Cuban screwed up. It still turned out okay. I'm not sure we even win a championship with him. I'm not sweating it.
Brunson - Sounds like he wanted out. He wouldn't be an all-star and potentially on pace for a HOF nomination if he stayed there. I'm actually happy for him and pleased that Nico came in and patched up the hole he left. Again, I'm not bothered.

I hadn?t even thought about the matchup like that, but I agree I am excited to watch it now for that reason.

some entertaining debate in the comment section
interesting to hear the complaining about Lue among other things - that'd probably be us about Kidd if we lost

Haliburton is still a big question mark. He is a great assist man, but I don't think he is in the superstar category yet.
He's just not really a great scoring guard. Remind me a bit of Deron Williams. Guys who are almost superstars but just not quite it.

I honestly find it odd the way the whole basketball world just seems to assume that Denver is winning the title. They might, but Minnesota is really good and does match up really with them with all of their size in the frontcourt. I wouldn't be at all shocked if Minnesota won this series.
Also, I'm not at all certain the Nuggets would be the favorites in a series against the Celtics.

Aaaaand Minny takes game 1. ANT is incredible. Also, Naz Reid is a beast. The Mavs desperately need someone like that. Here's hoping Omax can be some approximation of what Reid is.

Magic had a huge lead and lost it. Refs calling this game pretty 1 sided in the Cavs favor.

What a choke job by the Magic. Really makes you appreciate having someone like Luka that can get you a basket when you desperately need it.

Man, who to root for Knicks or Pacers? I think I'm leaning Pacers.

For me it's Pacers, only because if Brunson goes farther in the playoffs than Luka, there will be a whole bullshit media narrative about how Luka doesn't make his teammates better or something equally stupid.

They have so much length. Up 16 already in the 2nd quarter.

I don?t know how anyone could break it. Just absolute crazy length and schemes. Gobert is out and doesn?t matter. Crazy.

Jeeeeeeez, this is getting ugly. Denver can't even get their shots off. Multiple shot clock violations.

NBA is all about matchups. Jokic just looks totally off his game.

Matchups are definitely crucial, but are we sure the Mavs (or Thunder or whoever) would look any better? I'm not.
Maybe, because our offense flows through our backcourt, not the frontcourt like Denver, but still. They have so many big, versatile defenders.

Apparently Jamal Murray threw a heat pack on the court. I guess I missed it when it happened. They should toss that sore loser. At the very least a tech. Murray has played like ass this series.

I?m not super familiar with their roster, but Conley is really their only small guy. Everyone else is like at least 6?7?

Conley is 6'0" and Edwards is 6'4"
But yeah they have a center in the middle and a ton of super-switchable, super-mobile, super long guys-- many of whom are 6'9" (Reid, McDaniels, Anderson).
I'm just thrilled we have the Thunder. I don't think we are favored (especially with Luka on one leg and unable to hit a three), but of the three, we stand the most chance against the Thunder.

Man, Minnesota has just bullied the ever loving crap out of the defending champions, and made it look easy. Are we sure they're not the title favorites?

The day after Gobert sat and the wolves somehow showed one of the all-time defensive performances of all time, Gobert is announced as the winner of DPOY

Garland has looked lost in these playoffs. Like he often doesn't look focused which is weird.

Kinda glad we didn't get Siakam. He has been pretty mid since those first two Milwaukee games.
