Evil, I'm surprised you shipped Cutler out so quickly! He looks like he has the WRs and talent to be a major star this year and for the future. I think you ultimately got good talent in return though. Crayton is a nice player but he was going to have a hard time cracking in the lineup if all things are equal, ya know?
Delhomme has been a nice surprise and I figure Smith is going to play hungry from the suspension and the fact Carolina looked to be ok without him. He'll wanna show something b/c of that.
I think it's a good trade, but I think you might've been able to get a little better.
---
Yes, yes I did that LT trade. I have quietly been shopping him for about 10-12 days. I'm more than thrilled with my WRs, I only really have one QB playing worth a flip right now and LT was struggling but bound to bounce back. The problem I had with it was the future. I needed a RB that can produce now and will produce in the future. It IS a risk, no doubt. But I've essentially gotten little from LT and gotten huge numbers. I wanted at least that security and room for the future. I think the risk is there, but not as much as it may seem based on name value alone. I think Forte has LT value to the Bears. Obviously not the same rate of production, but it's up there. Go Big or Go Home!
Now if I could just get a certain Trojan to stop sucking at QB...

You mean Matt Leinart? Oh, you mean Matt Cassell.

Well I traded Brett Favre for Carson Palmer, in hopes that the Bengals offense can somewhat get things turned around. I'm in a 2 QB league and my other two QBs are Hasselbeck and Campbell so the QB position has been pretty subpar.
Favre looks like he'll have a decent, consistent season but I'm not expecting much out of whichever of the two other guys I plug into the second spot. So I made this trade on the gameble that Palmer can get back close to his old self and make my QB position not quite so dreadful. Any thoughts?
Team looks like:
QB: Palmer, Campbell (probably starting him for as long as Seattle's receiving corp is all on the injured list :P)
RB: Barber, McFadden (wish Grant would get healthy)
RB/WR: Eddie Royal
WR: Santonio Holmes, Driver (Colston jumps in when healthy)
TE: John Carlson (Clark hurt...noticing a pattern?)
DEF/ST: Pitt
K: Phil Dawson (I might need to make a switch here considering the point scarcity in Cle these days)
Bench: Ryan Grant, Marques Colston, Matt Hasselbeck, Dallas Clark, Michael Bush, Bryant Johnson
I really wish my team would get healthy, I'm having to juggle my roster around a slew of injuries, or in Hasselbeck's case a slew of injuries to his receiving corp.

Considering he's equaled out to about less than 1% of my scoring for the two weeks...yeah, that's an issue for me. I was hoping Edwards would slip through WWs this week. I wasn't exactly sure who to put my claim on b/c of multiple issues. So, just see what happened afterwards and he didn't...oh well.

I can't decide whether to start McFadden against Buffalo or Forte against Tampa in my non-DM.com yahoo league.
Thoughts?

Honestly as a fellow McFadden owner, I would wait until as close until gametime to make the decision. McFadden seems to be kind of hurt right now and with a good backup in Bush, the Raiders can go with Bush more if D-Mac is in bad shape.

That's a darned tough one, because if it wasn't for the 'turf toe' concerns, McFadden would probably be the clear cut choice here.
That said, because I believe Tampa Bay is just a little bit easier to run on than Buffalo, and because he appears to be healthier, Forte is the safer pick here, but for me it would be damned hard to sit an explosive player like McFadden after his monster game last week, so if I had to make your choice, I would probably try to ride the lightning and gamble with a RUN-DMC start here...

Like Fin said, it's tough b/c of the injury and it's been kept relatively quiet all week. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Bush seems like a more than capable back so I think if there is any slight chance of further damage, they'll ease the reigns on him. That makes Forte the better pick.
I'd keep that in mind and see what news comes out tomorrow and Saturday. If they say he's good...ride McFadden, if not, it's Forte.

I'm sorry man but that made me laugh my ass off.
ROFL
I hate Chad Uno Thres (1 fantasy pt so far today, an average of about thres points per game after the first two games)
Considering I got him late in Round 11 since I forgot to draft a 2nd QB, Jason Campbell has been good to me.

If Warner throws another TD to Fitz I might still have a chance at this thing...although I think McNabb is going to have a huge game to put it completely out of hand.

I dunno if it will be huge or not, depends on Westbrook in the passing game. I think that game will be a bruiser.

Dang it Jay Cutler already has a touchdown, and I'm pretty sure I left him on the bench for Romo today. It's going to be a tough choice between those two all season long.

Yeah, I definitely want to, but I just joined that league as a Casual public league. I don't get the feeling there are a ton of active people in that league to trade with. But I do at least need to try because I also have Warner on the bench who I think will be a capable backup should I succeed in trading one of them.

Question, what realistic value do you think Cutler/Romo has in a normal Yahoo! league format?
I've got three pretty good running backs imo with Steven Jackson, Brandon Jacobs, and D-Mac so I don't think it's realistic to expect a running back in return that would give me a big upgrade at that spot. I'm thinking I should shoot for a pretty good WR like Boldin or B. Edwards which would give me a great 3 WR to go with Megatron and Colston (when healthy). My starting tight end is John Carlson, so I figure I might want to shoot for a top notch tight end as well like Gates or Witten.

If you scroll back a page or so, I described a trade I made in a 10 man yahoo money league just the other day, with a pretty darned identical roster situation. From a team where I had Romo/Cutler (and Colston/Megatron/Boldin at WR), I traded Cutler, Patrick Crayton, and Chris Perry for Larry Johnson, Steve Smith, and Matt Cassel. The consensus amongst posters here was that it was a good trade, but that I was probably underselling Cutler a little bit, but I was happy with the trade because the addition of Smith will really fortify my WR rotation in a league where wide receivers come at a premium because all of our teams can only play two RB's and are required to start WR/WR/WR/WR-TE every week. I'd say that considering your nice depth at RB, if you can find an active trade partner, you are absolutely right to be looking to target an elite WR, and you can hopefully be able to patch together a larger trade featuring Cutler to make it happen...

Sike is completey destroying me in his league. All his players are having their best games of the season so far. This blows. Looks like this might be my dreaded 0-5 week I've been fearing.

I don't understand Detroit. Why are they giving carries to Rudi freaking Johnson when they're one of the two worst teams in football?
My keeper team needs Kevin Smith to carry the freaking ball!

I'm not watching the game, but I'm just assuming based off of that: They're playing the pass/the WRs aren't getting any room at all. So the running game is open, they're taking it. Unfortunately, you can't really do that when you're down like 18 points.

But that doesn't explain why they're handing off to Rudi Johnson instead of their hope as the running back of the future.

Well, that I can't help you with...but it makes sense for the principle of the situation, not the player, but the philosophy.
It looks like I might've made the wrong choice for my Flex player and it's going to make a victory harder to come by. Not out of reach, but a little more difficult.

I think the fact that they are the Detroit Lions explains why they're handing off to Rudi Johnson instead of their hope as the running back of the future.
