I disagree. It makes the ref's call something and they're forced to call the defensive foul. Paul Pierce does this as well.

Carlisle really screwed up this 4th quarter. The Hornets had no center so Carlisle elects to not play a center in the most important time in the game.

It happened in the earlier game too. Hornets made their run in the 4th of the last game when Bass was inserted and Bass came out.

Out of all the times Pierce and Paul initiate contact how many times have they been called for a charge? I've never seen it. The refs 9 times out of 10 are going to call a defensive foul in that situation. Especially when the defender doesn't try to draw a charge.
