My D-M league team tried their hardest to give JThig the win, but Orton and the Bears D/ST c*ckblocked him with -6 combined points...

That's a little worse than me losing by 1 with Aaron Rodgers giving me 1 point.

My team averaged 129 points this year in the regular season.
Get to the playoffs and its 83 points. 83. Unbelievable.
Underlines how much all of this is luck. Good times though.

You just don't want to give credit to my stifling fantasy defense.

Try missing the playoffs by one point (total points for over the course of the season), finishing the season on a 4-0 run, finishing second in the division and beating the division winner...twice.
Hardcore league, went about as far as it could without having a capable #2 RB until the last half of the season, maybe even later. That'll be a nice roster to play with going forward though.
Spygate continues the magical run and like the team of the Real Golden Boy, it's a team you really don't want to run into right now. I'm taking on the overall #1 seed this week.

Fantasy Football was just generally depressing for me this year in all 3 of my leagues. I'm going to have to drink a lot this off season.

Luckily for me, I'm in the semi's in my money league (despite losing the last three regular season games). Two more wins will net me $800. Please, please, please have another good game, Chris Johnson!

I'm not in your guys' league, but I wanted to momentarily express my disappointment that my fantasy dynasty is dead. Three championships in the last four years (and 2nd place the year I didn't win), but I lost in the first round of the playoffs this week by 5 points. Just couldn't overcome losing my QB (Romo) and my TE (Finley) early in the year to injury.

Sorry to hear that, LD. But I'm sure the rest of your league isn't!
Okay, boys...I need to pick two receivers out of this heap of garbage:
Miles Austin
Vincent Jackson
Kenny Britt
Lance Moore
Anthony Armstrong
Who do you see as the least two of those evils?
Also, any chance you would consider starting Jonathan Stewart against the porous Arizona defense and sitting either Chris Johnson or Jamaal Charles?

Moore and either Austin or Jackson. Not sure how you decide between those 2.
Definitely would start CJ and JC, personally.

Thank goodness I started Jackson. Three scores...yeah, that'll do! I got ten points from Kaeding as well, so I'm quite happy with tonight's game. Now I just need to decide on Austin or Britt or Moore, but honestly, if my backs have good games it won't matter...not after that outburst by VJax.
My opponent has both Peyton Manning and Vick. That's going to be a tough call for him.

Like I said before: Fantasy Playoff Hero
(I started him in the 2nd week of a really close playoff game and it paid off big!)

It sure is easy to get away with lying when you know you won't be called out. Did you miss me?
1. I never said Jones is better than Charles. I said he splits touches with him, and I don't like RBs that have to split touches. I also said that Jones gets more goal line touches. How's that looking now? Are you denying either of those things? No worries, I'll provide the facts for you.
Charles: 192 carries, 3 TDs
Jones: 190 carries, 5 TDs
Woops! Nice try though, better luck next time.
1. I traded Best for Moore? So what? That's like trading Matt Carroll for Travis Diener, but sans contracts. Moore hasn't done a thing. Best has been garbage due to turf toe, but it's not like I start him. I ended up cutting him and picking up Jacobs several weeks ago, who had a monster game in the spot start I gave him.
2. Clearly you missed/omitted earlier in the thread where I mentioned picking up Stafford. I started Stafford over Fitzy. Stafford had 3 TDS when I started him. I haven't started Fityz once since then. I've been rolling with Cassel & Kitna who have both been well above average in every start I gave them (Matt had several HUGE games).
3. You decided to ignore the fact that I picked up Brandon Lloyd after Week 1 off waivers. How's he done? Oh yeah, he just leads the NFL in receiving yards is all. You also decided to ignore that I picked up Steve Johnson early on. How's he done? Oh yeah, just 900 yards and 7 TDS. Why no mention of those pickups?
Thank you, come again!

Like I said. Jones and JC are separated by a mere 2 carries. JC only has 3 touchdowns. Sure, his yardage has been great. But with an extreme paucity of TDs and limited touches, he's far from elite, and not better than what you had.
Did you end up doing that trade?

I did not do the trade, no. But I don't get where you are coming from. Charles has been MUCH the better back than Jones. Carries don't get you points. Yards do. As do touchdowns, of course, but even without the touchdowns Charles has been a premier back.
You really aren't making much sense here.

Randy Moss got dropped by the Vikings when he was considering that trade.

Chum, my friend, you need to go back and read my previous post.
As I said, I never argued that Jones is better than Charles. He's not!
What I said was, the fact that he gets as many touches as JC hurts the ability of JC to produce. If TC is getting half the touches, that's 50% less touches (and thus opportunities for yards & tds, and in turn fantasy points) for JC.
Sure JC has been good. He's the 10th ranked RB. My point was that he's not going to be elite thanks to Thomas stealing his touches.

Everybody already knows that, about the backfield platoon in KC. I don't understand what you think you are/were adding to the discussion. RBC backs are necessarily still very important FF commodities, since there are only so many workhorse backs going in the league. JC did quite alright for himself this year. I guess a proper definition of elite wouldn't extend all the way to the 10th rank, but given that he is my RB3, he's elite enough for me!
I checked back in the thread and saw where you guaranteed Dez wouldn't get more than 1TD the rest of the way, with Kitna at the helm. Pretty sure you were wrong!

How is everybody doing today?
Great day for me. The WR decision ended up being immaterial, even if I had sat VJax (31.7). I played Austin at the other slot (11.3), and the bench did just as well: Britt (15.8), Armstrong (12.5), and Moore (9.6). The WR position had frustrated me all year long. Thank goodness it came through when I needed it most.
My team hung 159 points on the opponent, which maybe is the most in my league this year. Great performances all the way around. Oddly enough, Arian Foster was my weakest link. Let me post the scores, because I am so proud of my boys!
QB - Flacco - 19.08
WR - VJax - 31.7
WR - Austin - 11.3
RB - Foster - 9.1
RB - Charles - 22.8
W/R - Chris Johnson - 20.2
TE - Witten - 25.0
K - Kaeding - 10.0
DEF - Dallas - 10.0
And Ryan Torain (18.6) and Jonathan Stewart (12.4) sitting on my bench, for the sole purpose of keeping off opponents' rosters.
The other position on my bench? My SECOND ROUND draft pick, Shonn Greene, who I have rostered all year but never started. Boy, I screwed the pooch on that one.
Sorry to crow so much, but I am giddy with today's games.
Three things:
1) Cadbane, how you like Jamaal Charles now?
2) Here's a link to my league page, in case anyone might think I'm blowing gas:
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/742265
3) Cadbane, please reciprocate by proving a link to your own league page, so that I can admire your fantasy football prowess as much as you just admired mine. Thanks.
And, in parting... Cutler and McNabb....LOLOLZ!

With spygate, My team that was a dumpster fire last year is continuing it's remarkable sophomore run this year. I'm looking like I'm in decent shape to make a run into the finals next week.
It's all I've got left because I've been eliminated from the other leagues. I went ahead and made what I think is kind of an under the radar/savvy move in the hardcore league.

Kitna & Witten tore it up for me this week! Barring an insane miracle week by Chicago's defense, it's Finals time next week!

Now that I'm out, I'm rolling without a tight end. I went ahead and cut that to get Kolb. Vick is either getting paid in Philly and Kolb will get traded to a team that needs a QB or Vick will get paid somewhere else and Kolb has all of those weapons to play with. I'll have him and he'll be relatively cheap.

Okay, my bad. I did something wrong, I suppose, because I know someone upthread showed an example of how you could link to a league page for public view.
I do believe that you played Kitna today, because he was doubtless the best of the rest available, after you got off the Cutler/McNabb/Fitzy bandwagon. Kudos to you. He had a great fantasy game. (By the by, who would have thunk that Grossman would have had a better one? I haven't looked at the stats, but I'm guessing that he did.)
As a fellow Witten owner, congrats on that. Did you draft him? I have to sprain my elbow patting myself on the back here, because I traded Keller for Witten the week after Romo went down. And I traded LT for VJax (instead of that Charles trade). The only two moves I made...but they paid huge dividends.

Shrewd.
You will have to explain to me, though, how this works. I don't understand the format. Kolb seems like a guy who you would want to bet on going forward, so I don't understand why he would be so readily available. And at that, why would you have to cut a starting TE to get him? What about the bottom-of-the-roster bench slots?
Ohhh...maybe I am getting it. You said "dynasty," as opposed to keeper. Do you keep your whole roster in that format? I'm not familiar with the rules. Seems like a cool idea, though.

You play basically with a salary cap, it's $200 and ESPN determines the value of each player. My TE was Benjamin Watson, the options to cut were Ryan Mathews, Danny Woodhead, Jonathan Stewart, CJ Spiller and Sam Bradford. Some of those guys have done nothing this year but they're not worth dumping...you can hold on to them and hope for a stronger year next year.
Kolb was a free agent, basically getting cut after Vick took over...people couldn't afford to hold on to him through the season.
You just have to pick and choose who you can keep based on the salary values for each player.

I did draft Witten. It's funny because there was a prolonged period where he wasn't producing much, and I considered waiving him for Todd Heap, because he had been let go due to a previous injury. I'm glad I didn't make that move, Witten gas been money the last 3 or 4 weeks.
I'm surprised someone gave you Witten for Keller. That's a no-brainer. Especially since back-up QBs tend to rely heavily on their TE's.
The Vjax trade was also a very good one...surprised someone did that for LT. They must have been desperate for a RB. LT has had a nice "resurgence" season, but I wouldn't start him unless I had to.
My QB rotation has admittedly vacillated throughout the year, but to my credit, I've only started guys who had good weeks. Cutler was great when I had him (he's actually rebounded later in the year long after I waived him), McNabb had a very good week when I started him. Stafford was fantastic before he got hurt. Fitzy had a good 3 week run. And since, Cassell and Kitna have been very good as well.

Nope, I drafted Kolb as my backup, but picked Vick up after Week 1.

I'd say you have to lose eventually, but then the same would apply to my 13-0 team in another league, so screw that - I'm just gonna beat ya!
Plus, I've won 9 in a row with my D-M team, so we're both in the middle of big streaks right now - unstoppable force, meet immovable object...
