Rangers tie it in the 7th with two runs off Meek, who has the lowest ERA in the majors with enough appearances.

After we get done with the Angels, they will look like a bad team.

i'm kind of hoping that they're gaining confidence from this and thus will play the good teams better.
and they're a pretty good team. you don't win 11 in a row against anyone without being pretty damn competent.

Angels lose. Should appease Flaco for about 5-6 hours.

Sooner or later they're going to catch us. The bastards. Why can't they just let us have one lousy division title? Just one?

The angels arent catching us. We are better at hitting, fielding, and pitching. Pretty much we are just better.
One of the biggest strengths this team has is its bullpen. We have THE best bullpen in baseball and weve still got reinforcements. As long as Cj doesnt fall apart we will win 95+ games

Don't forget that we took one of the Angels' best players (maybe their very best player) from all their successful years over the past decade.

That is a very optimistic view, but I can't argue with you. We really do have one BEAST of a bullpen. Just look at this:
Oliver has been tremendous and is actually having his best year EVER by a pretty good margin.
Ogando looks like he could be utterly dominant and may make a case for putting Feliz back as a starter next year.
O'Day has been very good (only slightly off from his tremendous numbers last year).
Ray has been as good as he ever has been (even during his 30+ save campaign) and has made that Millwood trade look much better than it did when it took place.
Francisco has been fairly strong after a rough start but could improve.
Feliz is arguably one of the best closers in baseball.
The ONLY two guys that are a little scary when you see them run to the mound are Nippert and Harrison as the long relief duo. Hell, if you are seeing either of those two though it means A. you are down a starter and are depending on someone that shouldn't be starting or B. you had a bad performance by your starter and are likely in a hole anyway. Basically, those guys will very, very rarely be depended on in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings.
So, if our starters can get through 6, our bullpen has basically shut the door on the opposing team and shortened the game to a 6-inning affair.

Yeah, you can't say enough about the job Vlad has done as a DH for this club. He has been outstanding. What a slap in the face it will be to LA when he starts the All-Star game, and not bacause of his name, but because of his tremendous first half.

i think when Harrison is fully healthy (and that may be never...he gets hurt every year it seems), he'll be a really good long reliever/spot starter. he's got something if he can just stay off the DL.

On that front dont forget we took oliver from the Angels too. He has been at least close to as important as vlad so far. That guy has just been killing it.

The good news is that the Rockies beat the Angels in the 11th inning.

Ok after that depressing World Cup game, it's back to the Rangers to cheer me up. Rangers are up 7-2 in the 6th, thanks in large part to a Kinsler bomb.
There it is...Hambone extends his hit streak to 20.

Very poor game from RISP perspective. Poor series, in fact. I read that we've had the bases loaded 4 times in these two games, and haven't got any runs out of it (if we have scored, its been very minimal...1 or 2 runs tops).
Seems like we've had four or five warning track shots with people on that would have helped, but close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and NBA refs giving Wade FT's.

True - but let's not overlook that they still won comfortably today even without great RISP success. It's baseball. Those kinds of games are going to happen more often than not.

Feldman isn't the same pitcher this year as he was last year. Stats can only tell you so much. And I'll go ahead and say it.. Feldman has probably been worse this year than the stats indicate. His location has been abysmal.
