Naw bra, Kobe aint a choker... neither is Dirk though. Yeah KG's defense is better than DIrk's, but Dirk's offense be better than KG's, blee dat. Rebounding is basically a wash, do people think Dirk isn't a good rebounder or sumtin.
they're similar players, gimme Dirk tho, blee dat. Pierce is da best player on da Celtics.
KG is definitely not clutch though, evident through last night, his career, and statistics.
Still think Boston will win in 6. They look like da better team even when they lose.

Celtics delayed in LA
Email|Link|Comments (7) Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff June 16, 2008 04:37 PM
As of 4 p.m. EDT today, the Celtics plane is still on the ground in Los Angeles due to mechanical issues with the plane.
At 5:30 p.m., Celtics radio announcer Cedric Maxwell reported on sports radio WEEI that a 757 airplane has been flown in to take the Celtics back to Boston on a direct flight.
Celtics guard Ray Allen, who left immediately after last night game due to an illness with one of his children, is expected to play Tuesday night in Boston. His child is expected to be OK.

KG is a better rebounder and defender thru his career. Dirk is better offensive player.

At this point, I think it's take your pick & you'll probably be right
Personally, I thought the NBA would be anxious to get out of the spotlight and end it in 5 games, but Stern's arrogance and/or greed obviously didn't let that happen
Or is Stern just as much an attention slut as KoMe?

Ya know, whenever I see home crowds going wild in anticipation of an NBA title, I always think back to 2006. Seeing KG and Ray Allen finally winning a title, not knowing if Dirk will ever be able to hold the trophy up one day after all the work and dedication he's put in through out his career. But.. what can you do? The past is the past.. nothing will change what's occured.
Congratulations to the NBA champions, the Boston Celtics.

Paul Pierce has to be the Finals MVP, no doubt. Hellacious defense by him on Kobe, and great team defense the whole series.

Vujacic: Celtics Play Too Rough
Lakers' guard Sasha Vujacic believes that the Celtics have been playing too rough through the first five games of the NBA Finals, according to The Los Angeles Daily News.
"Phil (Jackson) told me after the game that he thought I was a bit emotional. And I think he was right; I didn't manage it right," Vujacic said. "It all started from that poke in the eye (by Celtics' guard Sam Cassell). I got a little bit mad because the ref was right there, and he didn't call it."
Sasha believes that Boston gets away with quite a bit.
"They (Boston) foul a lot. They get away with a lot of fouls," Vujacic said. "When we go back to Boston, we know that they are going do a lot of moving picks like they do, and they're probably going to get away with it. But we got to stay smart, stay focused, and play with poise."

That turned out about as well as we could have hopped. It's still going to be a bitch go get out of the West but at least there's no super power.
Not a good turn out for Dirk but a good turn out for the team.

I was about to amend it to "Dirk's legacy".
It's basically what Windmill said, his peer group is racking up titles. Fair or not, this title puts KG over Dirk in the eyes of most and it elevates Pierce closer to, if not to, Dirk's level.
As far as the Mavs getting another shot at the ring, I believe the Lakers getting crushed like they did helps us. Of course it also helps every other contender in the West but I'm not worried about them right now.
When a team wins a ring it adds to their aura of invincibility. In their minds and in the back of the minds of the teams they're competing with. At least we don't have to deal with a championship Lakers team.

Correct me if you think I need it, but I think "most" already had KG over Dirk. While we disagree with them...I do agree that this ring will add to the distance that "most" will place between them. Pierce is pretty stout. This season has certainly elevated my opinion of him. Pierce can do what all the greats can do: get his own shot off.

I am kind of happy for Doc Rivers. I have always thought he was a wonderful coach, a very good TV analyst when he was commentating, and a class act all the way.

I'm not sure about the other superlatives, but how could anyone not like Doc?...

They might win it all next year if Bynam and Kobe stay healthy. They really missed Bynam's D in this year's playoffs.

I will never assume just because a piece like Bynum comes back, that just seals it.
Just because he comes back, he'll still have to mesh with Odom and Gasol. That isn't a given, and it's definitely not a sure thing that he'll come back and be in the form he was in before he got hurt. They've got some issues. I think they need to look at shipping Odom out and getting another type of SF.
Gasol is going to help them a lot, but also hurt them in these tough situations. He just doesn't do it when things get really physical.
