Sometimes I have one week situational pickups who are worthless after that week. So even if I dont replace them I dont care I'll just keep the roster spot open.

I was wondering the same thing.

For me, it's all the same transaction. Especially considering I'm not going to have the #1 wire position most of the time, if ever.

So it becomes "IF I can claim this guy, I will drop this guy." What if you drop someone, then you don't get who you claim?

I think it's a smoke & mirrors technique to get you to go after the players they dropped rather than the players on the wire (otherwise I don't get it either!)

I did consider that. Seem flimsy though. And as Flac stated, what happens when you drop four guys and not all of your claims go through?

It's just weird.

If they are dropping players and at the same time expecting the waiver claims to fill those holes, there is no reasonable explanation. On the other hand, if they are dropping players because they are sick of those fools...and clicking that "drop" button feels oh, so good...well, that's understandable.

God knows I would love to drop half my roster...if I could.

chum further explained my point...it's instant gratification hitting the "dropped" button, get rid of them the second you can.

This isn't even that big of a WW week for me, I'm pushing more for trades: shameless plug again about RB need and offering WRs

Just thought I would point out that I had BOTH Miles Austin and Roddy White in my lineup last weekend. Awesomeness ensued.

I got pummeled this week. My 2 starting RB's had byes and boy did that hurt.

Brady's awesome game mirrored by Sanchez's equally unawesome game. I guess I wasted my money on purchasing the 19-0.com domain from the Patriots afterall.

That was clever of Jason Campbell to get benched in the second half. He's so clever.

And McNabb...that was clever to not score a touchdown against THE RAIDERS. I'm going to win anyway, but I'm still damned.

Wouldn't it be better if FF playoffs started after Week 11? Then you play everybody once only in a 12 team league, which is all you need. And then teams aren't resting their players because they've already clinched home field advantage or whatever. There's no bye weeks after Week 10. It seems more logical to me.

Is this the same Vince Young who threw 50% more interceptions (33) than touchdowns (22) and had more rushing fumbles than rushing TD's BEFORE the Titans became one of the worst teams in the NFL?

I agree with Jthig - he'll be back on the wire soon enough...

(see: Vick, Michael)

EDIT: I just noticed U2 picked up VY to replace Kerry Collins during Brady's bye, so I it's not like he had much of a choice in a 12-team/2-QB league...

This is maddening. I'm losing by one point. I need Fitz to catch one pass for more than five yards and I win.

For BG and I, it's Colston vs Bell tonight in New Orleans to decide the winner.

Who has Scobee as their kicker and lost by one? Oh that's right. Me.

I will be employing BG's patented "GTFOmyteam" move this week.

Looking at the standings as of today, I was remembering this conversation and chuckling. So I figured I'd quote a few of the choicer lines.

This is why you don't freak out after one week. The guy that wanted to quit has more points scored than any other team. And the guy who was going to have his head stomped all season long because of his QB combo has the best record in the league......

This is not the fantasy football team you are looking for.

I was freaking out BEFORE Week 1 because Clinton Portis was one of my keepers and Reggie Bush was my #2 RB - I wouldn't have picked either of those guys if we had drafted AFTER the preseason began (and you can still count me out next season if the draft is that early again...)

Also, I started out 0-4 and would have stayed in the cellar if BG hadn't traded Ray Rice to me for Carson Palmer (which was only possible because I scooped up Favre while nobody was paying attention...)

I wasn't bitching about losing a game - I was bitching about the rules being a bigger opponent than any of you guys have been (which is why I'm 6-1 since getting Rice and I'm gonna kick YOUR ass in the playoffs!)

Hell yeah it is - you're my favorite to win it all if Slaton and Pierre keep performing like little bitches for me...

Welker is so awesome in PPR its not even funny. And Schaub and Orton have been playing extremely well considering I drafted them in the 5th and 9th rounds respectively. Imagine if I hadn't cut Mendenhall when he was sucking early in the year...ironically, RB2 is really the only weak spot on my team.

I have come to realize that 2QB fantasy leagues are about as dumb as it gets.
