i'd probably agree with what you said as well.

I don't really think Bynum has improved all that much. I live in Los Angeles, so I get their games every night--I think it's more of the guards of LA understanding how to utilize his height/length. I think he is 2nd or 3rd in the NBA for most dunks, and I am willing to bet the house that over 85% of those dunks are off penetration/alley oops. He still has zero back to basket game, does not have a jumper, and still makes way too many stupid fouls on the defensive end. In general, the entire Lakers bench has been stepping up as a whole this year, Farmer to Sasha to Turiaf--with that being said, they are a decent team. Most likely, a playoff team but they do not have a chance in a 7 game series against San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, or Utah. If this was 5 years ago and the first round was still a best out of 5 endeavor, then I would be worried; fortunately, it's out of 7 games. Kobe has taken a big step back this year in terms of trying to lead the team in scoring, he has taken much more of a leadership role even being the voice of the defense (which usually falls on the shoulders of your big man). Its been a pleasure to witness Kobe's maturity on the court these last few seasons Post-Shaq (I don't know about off the court, he is still a cocky bastard IMO).

Memphis crapping all over the Spurs tonight. Only Finley and Duncan came to play tonight. Ginobli continues to struggle and they've got nothing from Barry or Vaughn. Bowen or Oberto are not even factors offensively.
This is the worst half and defense I've seen the Spurs play. I'm shocked they're only down 14 at the half. Pop must be having a field day in that locker room.

The last time they were trailing heading down the stretch, didn't they end the fourth quarter on a 39-14 run or something (Minnesota I think?)

Memphis has gone up as much as 22 I believe but the Spurs have cut it to 18 but it looks like Pop mailed this one in as he pulled Finley, Duncan, and Bowen with over 8 minutes left in the 3rd. Around 5 minutes left in the 3rd right now.

That's good for the mavs, if their loss can be coupled with our win / sun's lost... we are only one game out of first right?

The Spurs' bench has made it a 9 point game.

That was the most boneheaded play by Allen to foul Billups like that. Great game though.

Spurs have cut it to 10 with a lot of time left.
Utah loses again tonight to Charlotte.

0:07 SA T Duncan - Foul -
0:07 SA M Finley - Foul -
0:09 SA M Bonner - 2 Point Miss -
0:30 SA Time Out -
0:30 Mem D Stoudamire - 2 Point Miss -
1:23 Mem Time Out -
1:23 SA T Duncan - 2 Point Field Goal -
1:40 SA M Ginobili - 2 Point Field Goal -

That was a crazy game. Ginobli with a dunk to tie it up but Gay with the 3 point killer.

Poke fun at the Spurs injuries all you want but they've played tough competition (minus the Grizzlies) without Duncan and/or Parker and Ginobli struggling in all but 2 of those games.
No one can deny how unstoppable they were with all 3 healthy. Pop managed to get Duncan rest, then Parker, and won't be surprised if Ginobli sits some games once Parker returns. At the very least monitor his minutes carefully.

did anybody see the end of the celtics/pistons game? what a bunch of bullsh*t. I thought they were going to stop calling those crappy calls. Just give the game away.
They should have just not called it, and let the teams play overtime.

I know it's early, but as usual the 5th place team in the east with the 13 wins would be sniffing 10th place in the West.

Just like in the NFL, both conferences are top heavy
San Antonio
Phoenix
Dallas
Detroit
Boston
we can talk about the other teams and how much better they are than the next, but it will always come down to the top dogs in the end.

Nah man. You can't leave your feet on D. If you leave your feet, any call is fair game. It was a stupid move on Allen's part. Completely stupid. He deserved what he got. In that situation, you stay on the ground and just let the dude shoot over you. Then at you at least have a 50% chance that it won't go in. If you leave your feet, they're gonna call the foul and the game is pretty much over anyway.

Agreed. Sucks how the game ended like that. Bad play on Allen's part, but terrible coaching from Doc. You can understand Allen's reasoning however, at 1.7 seconds left, you wouldn't expect someone to pump fake a shot, but it happened and its over with. Boston hit two tough threes in the final 30 seconds to get that point anyways--that play should have never happened.

So the TNT halftime show with Houston/Denver...
They are asking what's wrong with houston, magis says one has to go. Then barkley says that yao doesn't do anything but score. I thought that was a ridiculous comment.
He's averaging 10repg, 10th in the league.
He's averaging 2.3 bpg, 7th in the league.
So unless he leads the league in rebounds or blocks he's not adding anything else, what a ridiculous comment.
And for silk, Ridiculous.

My favorite thing about Chuck is how his post-game reactions are clearly indicative of whether or not he bet big bucks on the game.
