That $2 million extra could make all the difference in retaining Aminu. Still need to get rid of Felton.
But, I would be surprised if the Mavs FO is unable to make a deal to shed Felton's contract.

They are really going hard after the two guys they want and that are most realistic...i think they prefer to get Matthews as fast as possible before trying to gamble with Green...

Well, you are in luck-- tonight they dined with both Aldridge and Matthews. Split the contingent apparently.
Parsons and Cubes with Deandre, Dirk and Donnie with Matthews.

What does it say that we were able to get these meetings early? The very first meetings it seems for these players.
Also considering Deandre + Parsons + Matthews seen together at a club the other day.
We were originally "scheduled" to be like the 4th team to meet with Deandre. What changed this?
I'm super intrigued/anxious/excited.

You do realize they've been trying to do that since he arrived in Dallas, right?

Opportunities open up one free agency starts. Some teams may suddenly need a backup PG.
Though, I admit it probably won't happen soon unless it's a part of a S&T. Otherwise, it will happen after teams have given up on using available cap space elsewhere.

Players are really poiting to Parsons contract? Ouch.
So who are the players that are going to be netting the mid-level exception now? Because IMO, in past years that would be a Danny Green or a Demare Carroll. Is that now the JJ Barea's or the Patty Mills of the world getting the mid-level?

Coach Rick Carlisle and athletic trainer Casey Smith met with Matthews, sources said. Matthews is the Mavs' top target at shooting guard despite suffering a torn Achilles tendon in early March.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me to think of this as being a very good bonus for pitching to Matthews if numbers are close with how respected Casey is. TBH I'm a little shocked Matthews is being a stickler for 12m vs 15m when he had the injury he had. I mean I can't imagine some1 outside of portland offering more.

I thought his market value would've decreased coming off the injury..........but maybe that is below market value. THe contracts being thrown out are on epic levels and none of the guys have been even b tier talent.

Nick Calathes was among PGs to get a call from Mavs tonight. Played in HS and college with Chandler Parsons.
Ramona Shelburne @ramonashelburne
Teams calling on Patrick Beverly tonight: Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, and Knicks

Rondo to Sacto, Ellis talking to Indy -- hearing about possible S&T scenarios in both cases. Not sure who we'd be looking at, talent-wise... Maybe we're fishing for a trade exception or draft picks?

@WojYahooNBA: Goran Dragic has reached agreement on a five-year, $90 million deal with the Miami Heat, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
@WojYahooNBA: Dragic deal will include a player option after the fourth year, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

I've always liked Calathes, and hopefully you can get him for something less than a max contract.

With Tyson, Monta, and Rondo all SnT possibilities, somebody is gonna be a sucker and take Felton's contract off our hands, right?

Get Pat Bev here. He's not the greatest offensive player but he will set the tone for us defensively.

Gerald green is still out there. The guy has improved last two years. Also Marco Bellinelli who has tons of playoff experience. If I want to make an offer on s restricted free agent SG. It's gotta be Shumpbert.

I'm not sure Cuban should even waste his time meeting with LMA. Focus on Jordan.

I feel Mavs knew about Green/Splitter moves and that's why they were so aggressive right when July 1st came for DJ and Wes, because LMA and Green were as good as gone to them.
