Kirk Hinrich is a FA...
If I'm Cuban?
Sign Hinrich, Jordan Hill, Harris if possible.. call it an Offseason.

Unless we can swing a deal for someone like Bledsoe or maybe Rondo, I'd rather just sign Harris and spend our money on a SF and bigs.
Definitely not crazy about Rondo but could live with him as a last resort.

That's not even close to using our cap space...

I'm glad you're not Cuban.

Yeah I mean its the only thing that makes sense to me. I am very curious on what actual changes they are going to invoke to keep that locker room from imploding again.

Might be, but it's worth noting that his QO amount was a lot higher than what he's likely to get on the open market, so there's plenty of motivation for them to not extend it independent of what they plan on offering Lance.

I heard Raps' offer to Kyle Lowry will start at $12 million annually. @SpearsNBAYahoo just reported Raptors' pitch will open at $14.5 mil

I see no reason to disagree with that assessment. On the other hand, I now see 14.5 million reasons to consider making an aggressive play for Vasquez.

Greivis Vasquez? He's slow, and not much of a defender, but he's an excellent floor general and distributor. I definitely like him better than Felton.

I'd prefer Lowry, but I think Vasquez is a worthy target. I like the way he plays.

What is a reasonable price for Vasquez?
Can he spread the floor?
Wouldn't want to use up too much of the cap on him.

Sounds like Cubes isn't necessarily against going after RFAs...

39% from the 3 last season - he's like a Calderon-lite, pretty much all the same upsides & downsides... Not quite as good at offense, not quite as bad at defense (he's a 6-6 PG, so his size makes him less of a liability on the defensive end).

Mavs supposedly looking at Isaiah Thomas? I think we could trade Mekel for a 2nd round pick next year then.

Parsons would be my viable choice to pay up then. Maybe Hayward too. Gordon is a better defender.

Vasquez is a good option. 6'6' would be great for our occasional zone usage and then we have a quick Harris as another option..
I just don't like adding TOO many new pieces in one offseason that rarely works. And I didn't realize how much Cap space we exactly had open. I'm even more excited now for Free agency.
~Vasquez (or Hinrich), Ariza or Deng, Jordan Hill. Resign Vince, Harris. Throw in. Looks like a good team to me.
Vasquez/Harris
Ellis/Carter
Ariza(or Deng)/Marion/Carter
Dirk/Wright(or new)
Chandler/Hill
We might even be able to snag Dalembert if Knicks get rid of him. He was decent.

Dallas (working from over the cap) could trade Wright and take back up to 7.6 million in salary.

First bits of news: Cuban meeting with Devin first, and Mavs were first to contact Deng.

These free agents can drag it on till July 10th I believe. So just cause they called Deng first doesn't mean anything big. Mostly cause Donnie is getting the numbers in after he meets with Melo's offer.

Dallas calls on RFA Chandler Parsons, and make no mistake: If Mavs miss on 'Melo, they'll be aggressive in pursuit of Parsons, sources say.

Me and Woj think alike if Melo chooses Houston.
