LAC leading Utah by 11 near the end of the 3rd. This has the potential to be an excellent night for the Mavs.

IMO, this would yield the most ideal playoff bracket:

1. Lakers (not really, but let's accept it)
2. Mavs
3. Jazz
4. Nuggets
5. Suns
6. Thunder
7. Spurs
8. Blazers

It's actually pretty close as it is.

Baron Davis keeps waiting until nine seconds are left on the shot clock to tell Kaman to set a screen. How many times does it take for the Clips to figure out that IT DOESN'T WORK?

Clippers win. Mavs now have a bit of separation from Utah.

Kings beat the Rockets 84-81 in Houston. Carl "Mandry" has 22 and 10 in his return to Houston. Kevin Martin, meanwhile, shoots 3-14 against his old team.

Overall, it's still a very good trade for the Rockets due to the picks in 2011 and 2012 from New York and Jordan Hill, who could eventually turn into a useful player.

That said, Martin, who's clearly a very talented player, relies on his offensive game to be effective. When he goes 3-13 and cannot compensate the poor shooting by drawing numerous fouls, he doesn't help his team a lot. In fact, due to his weak defense, he's close to being a liability.

I like how Cavs games ALWAYS make the nba.com front page, including wins over the Nets.

Way to appeal to the masses, NBA.

It seems that the Nuggets could have a field day with OKC in the playoffs, if these two teams were to face each other in the first round. I'd rather see them play Phoenix.

Didn't we dominate the 05-06 Heat in the regular season?

Don't underrate Salvatore either here. He has clutch whistling-from-30-feet-away skills that show up in big games.

Granted, "field day" was too much as OKC is a fine team. Still, the Nuggets seem to have a much easier time with the Thunder than the Suns based on the games these three teams have played against each other during the regular season.

He's never scared to make that big call. Even if he gets a call right, he doesn't let it effect him mentally. He'll get right back out there and the on next big call he'll whistle and miss it, just like the superstar he is.

While it is not likely, we aren't out of the race for the 1 spot, Lakers aren't a very good road team and still have 8 tough road games left, and 3 tough home games left. Mavs are 5 back.

The Bobcats absolutely OWN LA and the Cavs. 3-1 vs. the Cavs this year.

7-3 vs. LA in the last 10.

Bobcats play up to their competition usually.

They are 3-1 vs. Cavs, 1-2 vs. NJ lol.

I really hope they get the 8 seed to make Stern go crazy.

Yeah I think it's more Bogut beasting and the Salmons trade. Although Stack is shooting 43%...that's like a career high.

Jerry Stackhouse is still in the league? I honestly didn't know. And he's shooting 39% from 3. I thought he retired from the game.

Tony Parker fractured a metacarpal on his shooting hand.

I hope they hang on to whatever seed lets the play them Mavs in the first round.

It's unfortunate for them. But now the 2 seed definitely has a big advantage.

This is the first time I've heard a spur fan mention the number 4 and not have it correllated to their 4 rings.

I feel a little bad for the Spurs as they will be struggling just to keep in the playoff race this year-- only one game ahead of Portland and they just lost Parker for probably the rest of the season.

That said I'd love to waltz by them in the playoffs for an easy first round matchup.

Right now the playoff picture looks very interesting

Lakers vs Blazers-- 1-1 season series so far and Blazers tend to play well against the Lakers
Mavs vs Spurs-- Mavs are 2-1 against the Spurs and the Spurs may be without Parker
Nuggets vs Thunder-- Denver 2-1, The last two games have been blowouts (one win going to each team)
Jazz vs Suns-- Utah is 2-0..probably not too interesting of a match-up but the Suns drop some threes and it could be a 7 gamer
