Another big game for the Polish Hammer, 25 and 11 with a pair of blocks on only 10 FGAs. I'm glad he's finally getting his chance, and I'd also like to add, F U Otis.

And Galliinari with 29 on 12 FGAs. Those Euro models come w/ high efficiency, no?

Another guy straight balling since the big trade is Ryan Anderson. 23/16 tonight. Dude is putting up:
15/6/1/1 on 47/43/83 shooting in Jan.

He is really inconsistent, if I remember right he is just in a hot stretch right now.
Mavs now have a little breathing space (1 1/2 game lead in the third spot)

Right, a hot stretch that coincides with getting more playing time after the trades. What a coincidence.

Another reason for liking Durant. Getting a tech for arguing with Bosh. Then calling him fake tough after the game.

"There's a lot of fake tough guys in this league and he's one of them," Durant added.

He had good playing time with Orlando last year and got cut out of the rotation cause he was so inconsistent

he started the first 6 games last year (15 PPG, 5 RPG, 46% FG, 43% 3P), then was hurt for the next few games, then got moved to the bench when Lewis came back from his suspension. I don't think his play warranted the move to the bench - a much higher paid "star" came back (18 mil a year). After that, his minutes were jerked around as the magic tried to find time for lewis, barnes, and anderson (with anderson really just battling barnes for those leftover minutes, and those guys are similar in almost every aspect).

So Durant thinks Bosh is fake-tough and Dirk is the hardest player he's ever had to guard?
I like this kid - not only is he a better player than LeBron (yeah, I said it) but he's also a hell of a lot smarter when it comes to player assessment (and pretty much everything else...)

I believe it was underdog who talked about Memphis sneaking into the playoffs they came back against Orlando and have now won 6 of 7, Im still not sold because we have seen this story with them before, but Conley is playing the point at the highest level of his career, and Sam Young is that perfect glue guy that never does anything stupid or selfish

I remember agreeing with that notion, but I'm not sure if I originated it...
(maybe, who knows - I've had a lot of alcohol since then!)

Yep. Tried to rep you, but I'll have to spread it around first.
I'd actually prefer Memphis sneaking into the 8th seed. I haven't looked at the h2hs, but they seem like they could give SA more trouble than injury riddled Portland with a big frontline in Gay, Zbo and Gasol.

Even with that front line Portland is the better rebounding team, plus they haven't been there before where as Portland has, I don't see either winning a 7 game series with SA, but Portland can push them to 6 IMO
Memphis doesn't really have anyone that matches up with Duncan I think Camby would do a pretty good job on Duncan

Actually Memphis averages more RPG than Portland. 41.1 to 40.8. That's not pace adjusted, but even if that changes things, it can't be by much.
Last year SA only went 2-2 against Memphis. This year they played once and only won by 6. They blew out Portland by 18. Like I said, I think Memphis is the worse matchup for them.

I like rebounding percentage most
Portland is at 50.5 and Memphis 49.9
Meh I wouldn't really count regular season matchups for much
i just don't think Memphis can run with San Antonio and thats there strength, them on the break. SA isn't a great athletic team but they get a ton of open 3s in transition and knock them down

Oh, now I remember - I said Memphis would have a darkhorse chance of snagging the 8th seed if a Melo trade caused the Nuggets to implode...
But Portland could also provide that same opportunity.

Right on! Why on earth would anyone want to count actual samples where the 2 teams played each other? Those aren't worth anything!

look at denver- utah and portland- phoenix last year, regular season is totally different animal through an 82 game stretch you are going to have your injuries, your ups and downs ect matchups don't matter as much, refs ect

of course the playoffs are a different style, but you can't just say "meh" and discount games because they don't fit your argument.

maybe it counts for something but not much imo, either way I think everyone would agree neither Portland or Memphis would win a 7 game series against SA

What a find Wesley Matthews was for the Trailblazers. He's one of those few guys that actually get better after a contract year.
