Yea I thought White was more effective for sure.

Bush looked great, but UT was more than prepared to slow him down....but not White and the precision passing of Leinhart.

Did you see when Vince ran in for the game winner. He just ran into the crowd...Didn't jump up and down, didn't holler...Just walked back with the ball. Shocking...

No more negativity... I'm not dissing Bush, but he didn't seem like the best back for USC tonight.

It was a little weird. There wasn't much in the way of endzone celebration. Even after the game VY just waived to crowd all by himself.

How dominant was UT's line? At no point in the game was pressure a major factor. Twice USC got pressure from a blitz, but that's it.

One "average", (and average is being nice to your argument), game does not a bad RB make!!!

I was a little worried coming into the game about some of VY's comments... I didn't know whether or not he'd be mentally ready for the game...but damn, that was the best performance by one player in no telling how many years.

The same could be said for USC's line... I know they gave up sacks, but that is more on Leinart not being a scrambler vs. Young being a HELLUVA scrambler... There never was great pressure on either QB...
I guess that makes VY look even better, eh?

Actually have to disagree, vince had all day, leinart was throwing 3steps all night.

Texas was actually able to get some pressure without bringing a blitz. I don't know that USC did that the entire game.

And some photographer got a great photo. Vince standing by himself while confetti was all around him.

That is TOTALLY not true... I have the entire game TIVO'd and would be happy to go over any individual plays... They both had quite a bit of time over the course of the game... VY was pressured SEVERAL times but ran around the pressure... The same type of pressure was around Leinart but he simply could not escape it several times.

I never based this on how many people rushed... I am just saying both were pressured about the same amount!

I completely agree, but 20 of those passes were for less than 8 yards before the WR ran with the ball.

They went to the three step drop because UT was getting alot of pressure in the first half.... You're exactly right dude.

Well do it. I don't agree with you.. .Leinart was throwing 3-5 yard passes and vince was throwing 10-15 yarders.

What a huge difference between the class of Reggie Bush versus the Classless of Leinart.

Ok...let's make this simple.
On most of the plays that you're probably calling 'pressure', they were plays in which ANY QB would simply step up in the pocket and still have plenty of time to throw the ball. But, with VY, once he steps up and sees an opening, he takes it. With other QB's, they step up and then throw the pass.
VY saw very little pressure. Leinart saw more in the first half than VY did the entire game. VY was rushed maybe 2-3 times the entire game.

Whatever guys... Whatever... Texas rushed less guys and had the same amount of pressure that USC did with their different blitz packages... Both QBs were pressured the same amount but Leinart being pressured and making plays is far from Young being pressured and making plays... Young is so much better at moving with the ball and throwing on the run or running when the protection is too good...

Well Male23...The only two folks in this thread don't agree with you. It IS possible that you are wrong.
Now as far as murph being a ****. I can't comment on that.
Also just heard Vince backing away a little bit from coming back...

I have a question... after tonights incredible performance any of you guys think if Young decides to go Pro (please God, let him stay a bit longer) he would be picked by the Texans?

Again, if you want to count the times that VY had to roll due to pressure vs. the times that Leinart had to roll, we can do that... Tomorrow of course because I am not going to do so tonight, but I am HAPPY to do this... I think you guys underestimate how much VY makes rolling look like he meant to rush when it truly is that the line is collapsing and he has no options passing...
HE JUST SAID THAT HE DID THAT TOO ON A COUPLE OF PLAYS THAT BROKE DOWN...
Ugh...

I was so worried that IF Texas won, VY might leave... But from what he said after the game, I think he will stay!

U2, I don't know what he did to his stock tonight...Obviously, it continued to rise, but how much? The latest reports that I had heard from a couple of scouts was that he was going to be an early pick in the first round..How early? I don't know. I don't know how much he helped his stock. He showed tonight more than ever just how rare/special of an athlete that he is.
In all honesty, there's alot that I like about him more than Mike Vick. I think VY's the better runner, but doesn't have the arm strength. I can't imagine that Vick's calmer under pressure. Surely Vick can't be more of a leader. Plus, he's smaller and appears to be a little injury prone. Obviously Vick has the better throwing motion..is a better thrower at this point as well..
