Mavs have trouble at home with Jazz missing one of their best players.
Nauseating. Tired of seeing Holiday and Frank

after that first game holiday has been terrible
imagine you're luka and kidd is running you out there with frank, holiday, powell, and green... wth kind of lineup is that?
And in that lineup Green should absolutely be #2 and looking for his shot but kidd has screwed him in the head and he just goes back to his little corner. after his mini breakout he's disappeared again and i blame kidd completely.

Kidd really is so dumb when it comes to lineups. And everything.

I'm totally checked out for this season. I seriously don't even care. Like, I'm not sure if Bullock injured hurts or helps us. Play Hardy?

I?ve said it already but this has been the least entertaining season in years. Very few positives, at times unbearable to watch

Mavs could have Kriss Dunn on this roster. Our roster management is just bad.

At some point you got to ask yourself if they loose another close game shouldn't the closing lineup change.

Ok, for me.. My observations thus far
-Powell does not deserve to start or get heavy minutes. Let alone be a closer in the 4th quarter.
-Luka needs to stop forcing his shot so much. Ever since Kyrie came here it seems like he is out of rhythm.
-Our lineups MUST be different. It's almost like Kyrie puts us in a position to win by the third quarter and then all of a sudden we are being out rebounded the rest of game.
We need to sign a FA big man or start Javele. This is getting ridiculous.

I'm 100% a Luka stan.... but Kyrie has been better than Luka since he arrived in Dallas. Luka could learn a lot from him. His bball IQ is just off the charts.

Not a lot fans will want to hear this but kyrie should be the closer
He just makes smarter decisions than Luka
Luka needs to work more in the post to close out games.
As for Powell as you stated his ass should be on the bench especially late in 4th qtrs
Kyrie despite being a 6'0 is a better rebounder than Powell

Hot take: if we traded Luka to the Nuggets for Murray, Gordon, and KCP both teams would be better.

Not only is that a bad take, but it's even crazier that you'd suggest ANY trade involving Luka without a center coming back.

i know it was one game only but i miss watching this... (previous game against the Jazz)
young un's running around doing their thing, ball movement, effort on D/hustle, a confident Green/Hardy

I am really liking the Wood-Maxi combo out there. There is still the potential to hit threes and both are willing to contest shots. Luka needs to stop complaining. Just play. Honestly, he looks fatter then when the season started. He was more fit after playing summer ball.

Luka looks hurt, but if he isn?t, he desperately needs some accountability. This is as bad as I have seen him.
For perspective, he is still putting up insane numbers on decent efficiency. He has spoiled us with his play. If he had Lebron?s/ Kobe?s/ MJ?s work ethic he would be on his way to becoming the GOAT.
Somebody needs to get him to spend his off-season conditioning, lifting weights, and fixing his diet.

I don't think Luka will change. He's said himself, he doesn't plan to play very long in the league. He hasn't changed his incessant whining in the 5 years he's been in the league. The whining is pure habitual now. Unless there is a team intervention there is no motivation for him because he's putting up great numbers.
Hate to say it, but I'm not going to lose sleep when he leaves. I just wish we could keep Kyrie and build around him.

It?s a tough realization to come to, but I understand how you feel. The whining, laziness on defense, and lack of conditioning has gotten old. Let?s just hope someone has the balls to talk to him about it (another reason the Kyrie trade was huge? having a peer who works hard and plays the right way might open Luka?s eyes).

Yeah the Wood+Maxi combo is solid and the only positive +/- lineup with Wood.
Maxi - Good defense, screens, and secondary defense, poor rebounding
Wood - good rebounding, poor defense
Wood by himself has been a huge hole because his defense is so bad and his rebounding is only a scooch above average. Wood/Powell sucks because neither one can defend. Wood and McGee have the potential to be solid rebounding, but both are subpar defenders.
Ultimately it sounds like Wood is leaving, but if he stays, we need to let Powell walk and maybe dump McGee and get some other defensive centers that can play next to Wood.

Is luka playing hurt? wasn't his thigh bothering him?
Also is Luka's minutes rotation based on his personal preference or is this something coaches have decided? Other coaches have traditionally pulled their stars towards the end of a quarter to give them additional total time of rest going into the next quarter. i just feel that playing whole quarters is not a good management strategy. or if you want him in at the end of a quarter then pull him for a short rest in the middle.

After 2-3 years in the league if a guy doesn't take his conditioning serious I don't think he'll change as the seasons go by.
You mentioned Kobe and MJ
Hell I'd just be satisfied if Luka worked as hard as Giannis did on conditioning
But I really don't think Luka will ever be that driven. Dude might actually walk away from the game after 8 or 9 years and enjoy his beers 24/7

That whole strategy has worn drastically on me. In the beginning, I kind of understood it, but no excuse to do so with Kyrie here now. Alas, I'm not sure Kidd will change that at this point unless Luka discusses the same with him.
As an aside and as one of the bigger critics of Wood here, he played fantastically in his role last night and was much more engaged in the flow of the game on both sides. I say that because usually we don't have to worry about him on the offensive end. But what I saw was solid attitude and engagement from him when he didn't touch the ball for seemingly long stretches. By the way, something Luka needs to work on is getting him more involved much like Kyrie does. Anyway, Wood seemed much more upbeat and into it all and that's exactly what this squad needs. I think it's as simple as continuing to play that way and we should see a lot more of Wood and he should in turn see his shots and numbers increased. For me, we have enough offensive firepower that if he can continue to be impactful on defense, then this team could take a step forward.

Ive been asking this for awhile. The team is good enough to survive without him playing full quarters.
He plays from 6 min mark of the second quarter to the very end of the third quarter. For a guy without great conditioning, its flat out dumb.
Of course I dont think he should play the entire first either, but I would be satisfied with not playing 18 game min straight (with halftime break)

Wasnt it year 6 that Jokic decided to lose weight? Not comparing but I think there's hope he can drop a little weight and take conditioning more seriously.
As for the bitching at refs? I dont think thatll change, and its annoying af. Maybe hanging around Kyrie will eventually rub off in some ways more than others.

I'm guessing Tim starts if Bullock is out which I'm actually fine with. Nobody is playing defense anymore so you might as well start the guy that scores.
I'd prefer start Wood with Maxi as has been discussed, but don't see that happening. Don't think Maxi is healthy enough for that load, either.

I just want some easy rebounds, and someone to alter drives in the paint. Alas, he's listed out anyway according to espn.
Would love for Hardy to get more minutes.
