This team is just as unwatchable as last season minus the addition of Lively. You always know what team you have by mid January.

That?s the schedule. I?d be shocked if they?re still in the top 8 after that.

Bumping this. They?ll be lucky to be top 10 after the next 6 games.

Lively played 9 minutes in the second half.
But hey, we really needed Kleber's 0-3 form 3 to keep us in it.

Suns pull off the come back
Mavs now fall from 6th to 8th
2.5 games from 9/10 and Jazz are dominating. Lakers treading water
Only bad news is Rockets suck balls so probably no way to miss the play-in and maybe keep this years pick. Right now we?re slotted at the 16th pick for NY but at this rate the Knicks pick will be a saucy 11-13

Well I'm against getting rid of our young talent now esp since we aren't contenders. Thought rebounding would fix it, but it didn't change this game.
Develop Green, Hardy, Lively, and Omax. They don't have enough value to get you a big upgrade anyway.

THJ is really bad. What he provides with streaky shooting doesnt come close to making up for what he loses everywhere else. Especially defense, decision making, dribbling and typically thinking. That dude does some unexplainable shit on the court. I can rewind and watch indivual plays unfold 100 times and it doesnt add up. If Stephen Hawking and Coach Pop could artificially inseminate the most intelligent computer ever constructed and it could not decipher what the fvck Timothy Duane Hardaway JR is even doing most of the time.
Same goes for JKidd. That dude is heroically stupid af.
Think about G Will and then thank your lucky stars we have a FO with the foresight to outsmart the league and lock him in for 4 years. Whew! What a big ole turd.
Also, idk how we ever survived without Maxi!

It's funny because different players react differently to who is coaching them. I fully believe Grant Williams would be good under Rick. A total Rick guy.
On the flip side, if Rick were still here, then Josh Green would be out of the league.

Thats what Mavs roll out after a bunch of days off. Imagine how sharp we will be after all star break. Im embarrassed for them so i cant imagine what theyre going through. Getting red faced at home where it looked , sounded and felt like an away game at Boston.

Perhaps so. I just have zero faith in G Will to be very good at NBA level basketball. 6-6 chubber with no discernable skillset. Too small for PF, too slow to play SF.

The unfortunate part about the Mavs at this stage is that when you tune into a game, you have no idea if they'll win or lose. Some would say that this is the symptom of an inconsistent team. But I call it the result of being an average team as an average team loses as many games as they win. The journey of a .500 team!

I'm ok with that as I called us being a .500 team.
But the coach is the main issue. It's one thing to be an average team. It's worse when you can clearly see a team that isn't properly prepared night in and night out. Ridiculously painful to try and watch this team come out weak and have to claw their way back in it just to lose anyway.
But I'm sure they'll use injuries as an excuse per usual and keep Kidd around.

Miami got Rozier for Lowry and a 2027 first.
There is no way Kuzma is worth two firsts if that happened. Both are similar production/talents/age at different positions.

Suns (6-0) in last six at Mavs (2-4)
Hard to imagine a win with the Mavs so bad lately and the Suns surging.
Exum upgraded to questionable. Luka, Kyrie, and Curry downgraded to questionable

This is EXACTLY the type of game we would win and further confuse and annoy everyone.
(If we have kai and luka)

Has an article up about mavs lack of energy
I hate it to say it but this all starts with Luka because he comes out most non-chalant
He doesn't value possessions and he settles for lazy shots to set the tone way too often
Would love to see dude just punish defenders on the low block more and wear them down as opposed to jacking up 3's early and often

Powell is out with an eye issue. Now we get to see Kleber help us lose another game.

Luka has fallen out of shape once again this season as he has likely gained at least 10lbs since the beginning of the season. (which absolutely blows my mind for an extremely active athlete who's 23 years old) And it has historically gotten worse after the All Star break. His desire to slow down the pace and hoist late shot clock 3's is an attempt to save his energy.

I agree with Luka on block strategy. Its been one of the most highly underutilized weapons we have.
On the other hand. None of the rest of those MFs are Luka, they dont have the luxury to be lazy or point any fingers. Luka has been carrying this org since day 1. Luka does need to set an example more consistently for sure though.

It's Luka and Kidd.
Luka likes to pout. If he was Morris or Holmes, he'd be benched and that would be it, but he's the star and every other player looks to him as the tone-setter.
Kidd is a just a lazy, incompetent stoner. When he just says "F it" the rest of the team hears it.
But yeah we are low on talent, but we're playing lethargic ball. Even when we play 5-7 minutes of good ball, the energy inevitably leaves us and it's on Kidd and Luka. That's why I don't think a trade will help us, because we'll still inevitably have Kidd and Luka.

It's tough because there are only two types of coaches in the NBA. System ones and player ones. There are a very, very few that are both...if any. Luka needs a coach to coach him to be a better superstar. Kidd isn't that guy. On the flip side, I think Kidd is great with Irving.
Like, it's weird to see Milwaukee hire Rivers when they have a failed system. Th
It's always a sad wakeup call that Kidd isn't going to be fired because who replaces him? The time to do that was this past summer.

Ain't nobody going to miss Powell except Kidd and Luka.
Kyrie doesn't even bother to throw lobs to Powell.
As for kleber that dude is a shell of his former self.
I'm not even a big fan of OMAX but I'd rather see that kid get all of Kleber's minutes and I'm not sure what the fuck the organization is doing with him.
He should be learning and getting experience just like Lively.
But they want to keep forcing got damn minutes to the likes of Powell of kleber

I called for Omax playing center over a month ago. It's still nuts that Holmes can't get time.
Honestly, I think I'd rather see Powell than Kleber because at least Powell doesn't brick threes.

I do start to wonder about commitment. Like we know he's not a leader, but if you want to be considered the best, he would have to make some changes. But we run into these issues every single year.
He had a 30 point triple double last game, but I mean 12-30 shooting.
Mavs are looking at a 8 seed right now and the next 6 games are brutal.

Kidd being good with Irving is a moot point atm, Imo. I dont like the fit next to Luka because he doesn't defend well and is too damn small. There might be a coach that could make it work but it would require more moves than we can make. Having 2 back court players that are NOT switchable and cant really defend well is tough to overcome without at least 2 high level defenders also on the floor.
Kidd is just NOT getting replaced as long as Cuban has a say. Rick was expired for years and even he broke up with Cuban. God knows how long he would have been here for if he wanted to just ride it out. Even if Cuban knows he qas qrong about hiring Kidd, what are the odds he ever admits it?

There?s no scenario where he plays well though. And trade value is beyond trash regardless of what happens tonight.
Edit: he has 8 of first 10 Mavs points lol
