Im worried this might be the last of the old spurs. At least bc I want to see the Thunder lose.

That's cute. Reggie Miller is still the greatest scoring 8 points in 11 seconds.

Gotta give it to the Blazers for almost making it a series.

The only adjective would be historic to describe Curry..
He went 16-32 in 37 minutes, scoring 17 pts by himself in OT. On top of that, he missed his first 9 threes and still finished with 50% shooting.
Anyone trying to discredit him is largely biased.

First time ever for a unanimous vote for season MVP. That says a lot about him right now.
However, as for putting him up with the greats, I'm still tapping the breaks until he sustains a certain level through the rest of his career.

Well you can't really judge longevity until he retires, so you're likely to spend his entire career tapping the brakes.
I mean, where's the threshold? The entire game is changing to match his particular skill set, not unlike Wilt (or Dirk)... He already has more MVP awards than Kobe or Shaq... And if he ends up leading GS to another ring this year, he'll join Jordan, Russell and LeBron as the only players to win MVP awards and the NBA Finals in back-to-back seasons... The guy is ALREADY in the same conversation as the all-time greats -- and he's still getting better.

I think part of why he is the first unanimous MVP is because he is likable. There could always be that one guy who disliked a nominee and voted against him just for the sake of it or whatever reason. That isn't to take anything away from what he's done. I'm just saying that aside from his play I think his likability(personality, style of play, humility, etc) is something that resonates with people.

I would also say that he was by far the most dynamic player in the league, leading his team to the best regular-season record in history. I don't think voters had much of a choice. I don't think there's really any kind of reasonable case you can make for any of the rest of the candidates, great players as they all are.

Yeah that's another factor. We could call it a perfect storm situation. I think at the time that MJ set the 72-10 record though he missed out on 4 votes though that went to Penny(2), Dream, Malone. So yeah lots of factors likely went into Curry getting the first ever. I'm not sure it will happen again.

If you were to judge by the NBA's youtube channel comment section you'd think he's the biggest asshole in the world lmao.

OKC up 3-2 on SA... Didn't see that one coming.

I think we;re witnessing the end, or close to it. Spurs blow 2 4th quarters...never thought that would happen.

It's crazy easy to hate on OKC, but they may actually be figuring out how to win. They are playing really good defense mainly in part to Adams. They destroyed SA in rebounding 54-36. Sure Westbrook shot 27 times, but he still had game high 9 assists while getting 11 rebounds. Their coach has trimmed the minutes down to essentially a 7 man rotation.
They look to have everything figured out, but one last point remains ... can they sustain this to the next game? the next series? the finals?

OKC was smart keeping Kanter this summer. It really gives them a center edge as he and Adams provide a lot in different ways.

On curry already being an all time great, only Jordan and dirk (I'm biased) do you always feel their shot is going in. I get that same feeling from curry anytime he shoots it. Late 4th quarter to finish the Blazers was great again tonight. This is greatness. LeBron not so much

I honestly have yet to watch enough Curry to for sure put him in that boat. I would put Bird in there. If it's last 5 minutes of fourth quarter, I definitely put Reggie Miller in there. Lebron no. But yeah, Curry may be the only guy currently playing that is even close.

No need for bias... I remember seeing Heat fans during the Finals absolutely crumble whenever Dirk stepped into a 3-pointer -- they knew it was going in before he even released it.

Scott Skiles informs Orlando Magic he's resigning
I wonder how this affects those Parsons/Dwight to Orlando rumors? The HC market is drying up fast...

Interesting that you are seeing coaches turn down work now. Skiles leaving Orlando and Bickerstaff not going to be head coach of Houston. I guess some teams/players just aren't worth the stress in life even if you are getting paid millions of dollars.

@espn_macmahon: Most wins without making NBA Finals, per ESPN Stats and Information: 1972-73 Celtics (68-14), 2015-16 Spurs (67-15), 2006-07 Mavs (67-15)

I mainly don't like Westbrook, but they have killer size and rebounding all around on that team. I respect how the team was put together and keeping Kanter which wasn't a no-brainer decision this past summer at least form reports.

Blatt about to become the next head coach of the Knicks. He will be in a similar position he was in with Cleveland prior to LeBron's return. I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what he will do with this young Knicks team.
