I didn't know there was a debate. I thought it was fairly obvious that M+KB are way better for FPS. I just have more friends with 360s than friends with up-to-date computers. So it wasn't a hard decision to make when getting games like BFBC2.
I used to play FPSs only on the PC (Unreal, Quake, BF, etc.). But a friend in college got me hooked on Halo and rest is history as they say.

Believe it or not people still debate it....
I feel the same way about sports games. Sports games > consoles, it seems there's a bigger community there.

Hell yeah...... err, was never a Starcraft 2 fan. But it's good to see a game that can bring this much buzz while being a PC/Mac exclusive.

I have beat God of War 3 twice now and it is just so, so, so much fun. It is without a shadow of a doubt the best game I have ever played not called Madden. Just friggin perfect. Did I mention it was stunning and a glorious masterpiece of video gaming greatness?

Just bought Disciples 3 for PC. its a deep rpg strategy game, so non-nerds beware. unfortunately the money I spent was budgeted for SC2 so I guess I will have to wait. It will probably be a little while before good DOTA mods are released anyway.
Also, for DOTA fans, League of Legends is pretty damned epic. Possibly the most addictive game I play and its 100% free.
Alien Swarm on Steam is another good multiplayer game that is free. Up to 4 players its a top-down shooter (kind of old school looking). The gameplay videos on youtube look mighty awesome.

Installing now.
I'll probably play single player all the way through first, but I'm really scared of multiplayer. I never got the hang of it in starcraft 1.. but then again, I was like 12. So maybe I'll be better now.
Apparently the new battle.net makes it so they match you up with close competition. It will be nice not being dominated by elite korean after elite korean.
If I don't blow that hard, you guys should add me to your friends list once I get it all set up.

Well everything was much cruder then. The first is probably my favorite game of all time. Online play almost always had lag, mainly because the processors of the time couldn't keep up well with real time, multiplayer game play. The only map I ever played online was Big Game Hunters. Nothing beat a long and epic battle where thought you were going to lose then came back to win in the end. Very fulfilling feeling for a game.
I'm really not a big gamer, but this is an exception. If you've ever imagined wanting to control huge and awesome sci-fi armies, this is it.

Yeah, I'd be down for that. I've gone all the way through the SC1 campaign about two dozen times, but I never once played online because I was kind of "done" with Starcraft by the time I got the Internet (2002!). I'm going to play through this first campaign before I venture online, though.
Any battle.net people should add each other's RealID. PM me if you're interested.

Man Starcraft 2 is awesome. Single player story mode is great and I've had a lot of fun with battle.net so far. I'm actually 5-2, which is way better than I ever was at Starcraft. It's nice to play with people who are new at the game for once.

Are you guys like 18-22 years old (i.e. still in school) with an unlimited supply of money? How do you have the time and the cash flow to just play what seems to be an unlimited number of games? Torrents?

I substitute games for food. In the end, though, I don't really play that many games. I play games a lot, but it's a small number of them. I don't even own a PS3 or 360.

Ballin' on a budget.
Cheap Ass Gamer usually finds good deals first, and many websites credit them for the findings.
Cheap College Gamers is pretty good.
Slickdeals is the best overall, always keep an eye on that website. I have it as my homepage. Oh and there is Newegg, and Woot, but they are not gaming related.

SC 2 for sure, although I've only had time to play it for about 1.5 hours total in the last 2 weeks. I don't much care for single player--all about 1v1 and 2v2 online.

Agreed. Except for the Madden part of it, I'm not a big fan of Football sims.

have you guys heard about NBA JAM? I remember playing that game back in the day, and it was so fun. Well, i guess it came out for the wii oct. 5th. It is supposed to be released for the ps3/360 sometime before the holidays this year. I'm going to go on record to say, that i will probably get it, that game was fun. Supposedly, it's going to be the same as the original, with just HD graphics(sorry wii), They even have the same announcer, and have him saying some of the same stuff. They added more modes to it too. I'm pumped.

I got 2k11 for PS3 on release date and have not even opened it due to the Rangers, work, Cowboys, work, Mavs, and of course more work
Maybe this weekend I will have time to at least try it...unless I go to the fair

Since I moved back home, I've had all of my gaming consoles in storage until I get a full-time job and move back out. I'm tempted to go grab my Wii now.

I bought a PS3 on Black Friday. I'm doing one game at a time, so I finished Assassin's Creed in about a week and a half, playing for about two hours a day. Very beautiful, visually, but man the gameplay got so repetitive that I was having to make myself play it just to get it done. It never goes beyond a button-mashing with the exception of two fights, and that's the last two, where you have to use the hidden blade after a counter-attack. Only in the 9 assassinations that you do is there any creativity involved. I couldn't do the fake Richard + 4 Templars + archers fight, so I cheated a bit and ran away to my vigilantes, who held them in place so I could wail on them.
I hear AC2 is a lot better, and a lot more expansive, so I'll put that on my Christmas list, but for now, I need something else. I have all three God of War games, which came with the system, but I fear those will be too similar to Assassin's Creed. I also have Final Fantasy XIII (being a previous victor of all the others and a longtime fan of the series), and I bought Epic Mickey for my Wii as well. Any suggestions on what I should start next? Any new games I want to stick with the Greatest Hits collection to keep cost down (Gamestop had FF13 for $20 on Black Friday, which is the only reason I've bought it yet). I pretty much play anything, so what games do I just have to play for PS3?

I've gotten Gran Turismo 5 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I've been dividing up time between that and Bad Company 2 now with the 4 new maps (free!)
