I agree that they're not bringing much to the table here. But, I do agree with them with their point that he's a sorry SOB...and an under-achieving coach here in dallas.

Don't think Jerry won't make that call. I just can't see Jimmy leaving his cushy studio job to coach again.

I echo the thoughts on Mike and Greg, what a beating. They know they can't compete with these guys on knowledge, so they're just bringing schtick.

Bill is a sorry bastard. I've defended him and I still stand by he wasn't a failure but this SOB got rid of our talented evaluators and coaching staff now we have nothing. Then he builds this team around "his" players and now that the 3-4 doesn't work we have personnel for a 3-4 and we can't run it. Bill screwed us over.

If the Cowboys give this team over to an ex-Cowboys coach whether he was the head or assistant i'm goin' to lose it.

Who the cowboys REALLY need is Houston Nutt! That man can coach up a storm. But shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't let this get out. I don't want Jerry stealing him away from us. Hear that Jerry, PLEASE GOD - don't STEAL HOUSTON!
Reverse psychology? Oh yeah!

I'm not sure what you mean by that.
As far as teh defense, we could easily go back to the 4-3. Having Demarcus Ware rush the passer every down wouldn't be the worst thing and our linebackers can play that defense.
We may be a little heavy a LB and a little light on the line but not so much that it can't be changed over the summer.

I'm not against Bob Stoops but with the recent history of college coaches turned pro i'm not sure if its a risk i'd take with a 9-7 that underachieved.

There is definitely a risk due to what you mentioned, but at the same time, I don't see any "sure thing" candidates out there. So we will have to either take a risk on a guy or settle for a mediocre coach.

Well what I mean by that is Larry Lacewell is no longer here. Mike Zimmerman is no longer here. Sean Payton is no longer here. And its all because of Parcells. Granted, Parcells was the reason Payton was here to began with however I have to believe that if Payton knew Parcells would leave this season he would've stayed assistant for an extra season just to be the head coach of the Cowboys. Now we don't even have anyone to even turn this team over to if promoting from within was a possibility Jerry thought about.
Demarcus Ware came into this league playing a 3-4 though. I don't think its a given he will have the same success in a 4-3 as he did in the 3-4.

Well Cowher is still out there. Whether it be this year or next year at some point Cowher will come back. I'd take that inconsideration when looking for a head coach. I don't know I don't really have an answer for what's best for the Cowboys because I do with a couple of roster spots we have the potential to be a contender but like you said I don't see that sure thing coach out there. I'd love to get Cowher in here though. One thing I do know is that Cowher has class and he's not going to pull a Saban and come and coach the Boys this season. Or atleast I don't think he will.

Getting rid of Lacwell was one of Parcells' accomplishments IMO.
I get the feeling that if Jerry really wanted Zimmer as a futer head coach, he'd have talked him into staying since he knew that Bill may not be here.
Can't really blame Sean Payton for leaving when he did to take a head coaching job. Those opportunities don't come around very often so when a job opens that you want you should take it. I don't think Bill tried to screw the Cowboys out of Payton by comming back another year.

But he was a 4-3 end in college and he's a 4-3 end in the nickle. It wouldn't be a big transition.

I don't think it is possible considering Jerry already sold his soul to the devil 15 years ago.

And on top of this, wasn't Zimmer quoted as saying "I just wanted to make sure I had a job" when he was asked why he left for Atlanta. I'm pretty sure some on the Ticket said this.

Well, technically, Mustain is still at arkansas. He's just enrolled as a student, though. There are a LOT of rumors going on right now. Some people think Nutt is on his way out and Broyles will be right behind him.
Me? I can only dream.

Parcells' delay in announcing his retirement cost us a shot at Cam Cameron... and that is a very good thing.

That's just it. I don't even think Jerry knew Parcells wouldn't be back. How else can you explain him going to the Senior Bowl this year? Why go to the Senior Bowl if you're "retiring"?

Oh no I don't blame a thing on Payton. I can only imagine how hard it is to work for Parcells. He takes credit for every achievement there is and when something fails he throws it to one of the assistants. But I do feel if Payton knew Parcells wouldn't be back for the 07-08 season Payton would've stayed a assistant for this season and when Parcells left Payton would've taken over sort of like Avery Johnson did for Nellie.

I think that was because Zimmer thought Parcells would be back. Had he known Parcells would've been gone I don't believe Zimmer would've left. That's just wayyyy too much turnover for an offseason on a team that just went 9-7. No way Jerry wanted to lose both Zimmer and Parcells unless he already has a head coach in mind who's going to bring in his own staff. But I honestly think Jerry expected Parcells to return.

One thing that comes from this; I think you absolutely can NOT bring Owens back now. With an established locker room and a coach like Parcells, I thought it was a good move.
With a new coach creating a new culture, trying to find new leaders, you can NOT have Owens undermining that locker room while the new foundation is being built.

If Owens becomes a problem he will be released. Simple as that. Atleast give him a chance to F up. Hopefully the next coach that comes in will actually refer to him by name and not as "the player".

Actually, Zimmer said that Parcells told him that he would have a job with Parcells if the big fat Tuna decided to return.

How much do you wanna bet that we don't find out the new coach until Super Bowl week?

Well, I respectfully call that crazy. First of all there's a roster bonus, it's not as simple as just cutting.
Second, you're trying to lay a new foundation for a new coach. You can not have a player like that in a new locker room, IMO.
The only way I'd feel differently is if they bring in someone like Cowher.

I'd have no problem at all with Bob Stoops...
I just think it's unfortunate UNT snagged Todd Dodge when they did.

i honestly have no idea who we should go after. college coaches in recent years havent done so well so that leaves existing NFL coaches or someone in-house. in-house? nope....okay, so around the league.....ART SHELL
