RE:who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
He has been great and I dont mean to sound like im just lookin for some way to make him look bad but how do you get best rookie start ever? He is 4th or 5th in yards after 2 games all time. Great and he has been great but not the best of all time.

3. Shiny new Cadillac. Jon Gruden may have gotten the steal of the first round in Carnell Williams. I think Gruden jumped up and down in his chair when the Miami Dolphins selected Ronnie Brown instead of Williams, whose 276 rushing yards leads the NFL and is the best two-game start ever by a rookie. Gruden feels he got the best running back in the draft, but it'll take some time to prove that to be true. So far, Cadillac is certainly looking like it.

RE:who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
Well they are wrong. Its not its 5th all time. Billy sims was the most recent rookie to have more. Not an insult. He has been great and I actually like him alot. I still think that benson shoulda gone first and him second among the rbs. Btw being 5th all time and the most since way back in the days of billy sims is great. Just fact checking though.

RE: who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
Ugh... I am almost rooting for this dude to do bad just so I can see this thread die... But with 37 rushes it is almost impossible to avoid breaking the century mark... It is working well for TB to lean on this guy, but with his size he is going to end up getting hurt...
Second straight good game for him though!

RE:who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
his size??? he's the prototypical NFL back! I have NO IDEA where the perception of him being small came from, I guess ignorance...take a look at this:
Cedric Benson Height: 5-11 Weight: 220
Shaun Alexander Height: 5-11 Weight: 225
Warrick Dunn Height: 5-9 Weight: 180
Ahman Green Height: 6-0 Weight: 218
Travis Henry Height: 5-9 Weight: 215
Priest Holmes Height: 5-9 Weight: 213
Curtis Martin Height: 5-11 Weight: 210
Clinton Portis Height: 5-11 Weight: 212
Brian Westbrook Height: 5-8 Weight: 203
Carnell Williams Height: 5-11 Weight: 217

RE: who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
Most of those guys are very small... I didn't say he was too small to play RB in the NFL... I said he was small and his small size has him prone to injury when you carry the ball 37 times in a game... Jones is small... I never claimed otherwise... I also would be saying the EXACT SAME THING about Jones if he was carrying the ball 37 times in a game... That is a lot of shoulders in the chest and ribs by Linebackers!!! Surely you are intelligent enough to know that.
You must think I am comparing the two or something... Bottom line, let this dude carry the ball 37 times per week and I bet we see him inactive as some point due to injury!

I don't care how big you are, you have to be a tough MF'r to run the ball 37 times.

RE: who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
Exactly... You do... But even the toughest SoBs can get hurt Dirno... You run the ball 37 times per week consistently and that WILL happen unless you are just very lucky... That is SOO many hits by some hard hitting guys... Backs are lucky to not get hurt averaging 16-25 carries a game and many still do. Mark my words, (and please, quote me if it doesn't happen), if "Cadillac" continues to carry the ball that many times, he WILL get hurt before the end of the season.
It should be said though... He has accomplished quite a bit against some tough defensive teams, (Buffalo and Minnesota are both solid units though GB is a joke).

No doubt about it. He probably won't appproach this number again this season. There's really no reason for it since Pittman is a good backup.

as long as Galloway stays healthy and catches touchdown passes, the caddy will get the ball 30+ times a game.

Well, if he continues to get this many touches he will definitely have a shot at it... The kid has talent, no one can take that away from him...

RE: who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
#9 in average per carry. pretty durn good.
I agree with Male23Dan about the possibility of getting hurt, though. and since people were comparing sizes, that was the concern with portis, and the # of carries he's had in washington. saw a stat on ESPN the other day. it was something like: portis is the first player in NFL history to have an increase of more than 50 carries from one season to the next, and actually have LESS yrdage than the year before.
but back to the subject at hand. cadillac is a shorter back, but he's got more weight than most of the guys on that list. that'll help with the beatings he'll take.

That is one UGLY line... Detroit definitely must have game planned to stop Williams and boy did it work... We will see if other teams copy that or if he continues to be successful despite teams game planning against him.

RE:who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
Just like he isnt as good as he was the first three games, he is much better than this game shows. He played some bad Ds early mainly the Packers and the Vikes(no the vikings didnt improve much). He played a D that just tried to stop him and they did. He is in the middle. If you watched him play in college and dont think he can play you are nuts. I would have taken him after Benson but wouldnt have even thought about taking brown first. He is probably a 12 to 13 hundred yard rusher this year which is pretty dang impressive for a rookie.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Vikings as a upper half defensive unit...and can we please stop the hostility here, Carnell Williams was obviously not a bad blocker, but SEC defensive lineman aren't exactly Julius Peppers and Michael Strahan
I was just making a funny observation, a little rib, and you people go CRAZY over it

And regarding what Alby said, I somewhat cringed... Minnesota's defense is much, MUCH better and I was not going to mention that he did what he did against a poor defense. Minnesota has the potential to have one of the best defenses in all of football, (certainly top 10).
Regarding going CRAZY, had you not included the comment on Benson I would have just went right on with my day... Its not like we aren't all used to the pro-Auburn comments from you so I was cool with that and, like I said, expected this thread. As Dirno mentioned, with pro-UT guys you will eventually find some that will stand up for their guys and throw some facts your way!

Minnesota Viking Defense:
29th in total yards allowed
32nd in rushing yards allowed
13th in passing yards allowed
28th in total points allowed

I guess I should have said "On Paper!!!"
And it should be pointed out that, as I said, Cadillac has a good chance of getting injured under the workload he had... Sure enough, the guy tweaks his hammy!!! For his sake and for TB's sake, he better hope this isn't that type of nagging injury that stays with you for the season and never fully heals because you run on it weekly...

RE: who wants to take a ride in the Cadillac?
This kid looked like he could potentially win the rushing title this year; however, after his injury and back to back poor rushing games, (one prior to the injury), he looks like he might not even have the most rushing yards for a rookie.
It's a shame, but I knew this would happened if they tried to overwork the guy.

forgot this thread was here. glad to see Carnell's recovered from his injury...I think this is 3 100 yard games in a row? he's pretty much got ROTY wrapped up, imo.
I think his final line will be around 1200-1300 yards and a top 10 finish in rushing yards. that's pretty great considering Tampa's atrocious offensive line...maybe they'll trade up to pick BIG MARCUS.
also, can the Ricky Williams experiment end please? I think Ronnie has proved he's going to be big time. come on Saban!
also, best wishes to Benson on his recovery...I guess.

Actually it is 1 100 yard game in a row...
http://sports-att.espn.go.com/nfl/pl...?playerId=8420
With that said, if you add up his last 4 games, he has over 400 yards rushing...
He might get 1200, but I see him finishing with around 1100-1150 with NE and Atl still on the schedule.
