Where Nelson lost the ball on offense, and then Wall just shot over him on defense. This was really painful to watch.

All that is absolutely true. But the next play he drove to the hoop and hit a wide open Parsons for a corner 3.
No doubt Nelson is the weakest link right now. But I don't think he'd be taking those pull up 3's if Carlisle didn't want him to. More likely, Carlisle wants a PG who can, and will HIT that shot...a la Nick Van Exel. I think he's doing what the coach wants, but not as well as the coach wants him to.
And how is it that Wall, the opposing PG who averages over 20 was held to half that?
It would be great if Felton is better, but if he's not, I expect Nelson to be good enough by season's end. He is neither untalented or stupid. He's just got to make fewer stupid plays.I expect one of these guys to get traded at the deadline, so they are essentially fighting to remain on the Mavs. good luck.
