But the Bobcats DIDN'T limit their turnovers. They had like 23. They did, however, crush Miami on the glass. Henderson is looking very impressive.

They had at least 11 Turnover's in the third alone.

The Suns are just awful. They really should do Nash a favor and trade him to a contender.

Heat look like the same frontrunning team as last year. I have no idea why so many out there are drooling over them when they did this same stuff last season and even in the playoffs. When teams make stupid turnovers and they get to run and dunk and they are playing with big leads, they look like world beaters. Put them in tough situations where teams play smart and can hit the glass and make them work for points, they become very average like we saw in the Finals and many games last season.
Chandler so far looks very bad but I always kept saying his value here was overrated by other teams. He fit our system and our team and what we wanted to do on both sides of the ball. He can not duplicate that on any team. Knicks do not fit his style. Haywood has not been that much worse stats wise.
And yes, the Nash era in Phoenix needs to end soon. For both parties sake. They are going nowhere at all with him and need to blow it up and move on to rebuild. Do him a favor and trade him. I still stand by he will never win a ring as a starting PG, though.

My quote was made at halftime. They had 18 TO in the 2nd half alone, that is why they lost. They were up 16 at one point, then they started throwing away the ball at an alarming rate. It didn't help that Silas went to a backcourt of Augustine and Kemba in the third. It threw Augustine/Diaw out of their rhythm with Walker's ball hogging.

They were actually playing good defense for Coach Smart early last year as well, but they weren't getting W's. As a result, the players tuned out Smart and went back to their wing and a prayer type of play.

I'll disagree here. I think the Heat look noticeably better. LeBron and Wade haven't shot a single three yet. At last year's rate, they'd have shot 18 by now. They're being more aggressive. LeBron is also showing an improved post up game, which is reportedly worked on all summer. Cole and Battier are upgrades over their counterparts from last year (though Battier hasnt shown much yet). James Jones is finding his spots more comfortably and letting it fly with confidence. A fully healthy Haslem is an upgrade too.
Now, they're not unbeatable or anything, but the threads are there for them to be even stronger than they were last playoffs.

i agree with all those comments. he's playing for a coach who is a offense specialist. his best seasons were with Kidd and CP3 at PG!!

I didn't realize how depleted Portland's bench is.
There bench is
Nick Batum: Really good player now starting caliber.
Jamal Crawford: Terrible volume scorer.
Kurt Thomas: Any player with any athletisism he is useless against.
Craig Smith: Undersized 4 that can rebound but big liability defensivly.
Nolan Smith: Unproven rookie
Elliot Williams: scrub
Luke Babbit: maybe worst player in nba

13pts, 11reb, 2blk, 3stl
looks like Chandler brought it. Amare's line is the overrated one.
Its a little painful to see a good line from Chandler, there hasnt been much reason to whine about his contributions yet. Maybe if he gets injured again or in a couple of years, but right now he's ballin.

Chandler's going to hurt Amare's nnumbers all season long; he clogs the lane.

This is what I noticed when he played the Mavericks, and this is what scares the living daylights out of me. He looks like a different player right now. Maybe this ends up being a mirage, but if he starts having some success with post ups, the dude will be unstoppable.

That pops is one smart dude. I would expect most older teams to take the third game in four nights pretty lightly until they really start to matter. There will probably be some nice surprises this year with the young guys getting a lot more minutes.
"“Down 18, third game in four nights, on the road,” Popovich said. “We weren’t playing well. I’m not sure how many times I want to be down 18 in this shortened season and work Timmy, Manu (Ginobili) and Tony (Parker) to work us out of that hole. Not this early in the season.
“Later on, depending on our situation, it might make more sense. But at this point, it was a great opportunity to treat it like training camp and get a lot of the younger kids out there and treat it like a practice.”"

If he was so smart you would think he would stop giving Bonner minutes.

Bonner's been an effective player for the Spurs overall the last few years. He's got his weaknesses, but on that team, with their frontcourt, he's earned his playing time.

He does 1 thing well, he can't rebound or defend, giving him minutes over Tiago is crazy.

We had a guy last year who could bust a three.. Bonner is a pretty damn good 3pt shooter. 41% career 3pt shooting isn't something to sneeze at.
Pops is one of the best there is.

Pop is one of the best of all time, I think though he has changed just to change, he has gotten bored of the old formula, and Bonner's playing time shows that. A 4 who can't create his own shot, finish, rebound, or defend is pretty much useless, and look at his playoff numbers. There is a reason Spurs fans hate him.

I find it strange that a Mavs fan would have so little appreciation for the value of a floor spreading PF.

When the only thing he can do is "spread the floor" and make threes then yeah.

But yeah, I'm sure you're right and Pops has been making a mistake by giving him minutes.

Too many posts in a row about Matt Bonner =P
Outside of the teams that are really intriguing this year (Miami, NY Knicks, LA Clippers, OKC), I've been impressed with Indy. They are a dark horse to finish with the second best record in the East IMO.

I like them a lot but they don't quite have the offense for that imo, I think they may very well finish third however.
