It always helps when players are playing hard and shots are falling, but if Nelson would coach like this every night he'd have absolutely NO doubters on this board.

How many minutes should Dirk play the remainder of this game? 5? 10 at most? What a first half offensive performance. Mavs second quarter outscores Knicks first half.

An absolutely magnificent first half..wow. If this is what this team can accomplish with a solid rotation like what Nelson has put on the floor tonight the rest of the league better watch out.

We're defending, we're scoring, we're boarding, we're passing....ladies and gentlemen...we are playing basketball.

I'll have more at the end of the game, but I want to point this out, because it won't be evident in the final boxscore.

Nelson's rotation projects out for a normal total game as follows:

Dampier 30 - Bradley 18
Nowitzki 34 - Henderson 14
Howard 36 - Daniels 12
Finley 44 - Daniels 4
Terry 30 - Harris 18

Obviously, Dirk would play a few more minutes in a tighter game and Fin might play a few less if he weren't playing so well, but the bottom line is that we played a straight, standard, nine-man rotation with two centers, two point guards, two power forwards, and three swingmen.

My sports pants are going crazy.
