Not going to lie, this only made me more excited. DJJ has them Kendrick Lamar vibes to him. I can't wait to watch this game tomorrow. Let's hope our guys pull a miracle and finally win a game 1 under Kidd.

After getting through the video, I am loving what Kidd is saying about the refs.
I THINK THIS TEAM IS LOCKED IN

It would be cool if the Mavs could change it up a bit and win game 1. Maybe not send all us fans into a spiral.
By any means necessary

The only "trashing" anybody does on here is the widely known fact that he has shown that he CAN control himself and make it about winning the basketball game vs winning an argument with the refs, but he chooses not to when things aren't going right for him. So let's put this to bed and stop with the poor Luka sentiments.

Yea I mean, game 5 Luka is all we want consistently. That was the most focused I've seen him in probably ever. Someone told him to stop the fuckin chirping and play ball.

It aint happening and you don?t want an overpaid fat boy with lower body concerns leading into his 30?s. It?ll sink this franchise for the next decade.

I've said my peace... And I stand by everything I have said about Luka. He's a grown man with a family and one of the best players I've ever seen acting like a baby on the court at times. Which he clearly isn't a baby - the way he destroys everything when he's focused.
He needs to take the next step or he will continue to get ridiculed, hurt our chances of winning it all, and only be a consideration for MVP.
To add.. we don't win game 5 if he's acting like he did in game 4. I was there. It was embarrassing.

Luka having bad games offensively was the best thing to happen to the team.
Suddenly guys like DJJ, PJ, and Green all got the green light to actually do things on offense.
We need to win games when he is having an "off" one.
Of course, his off game offensively was also an "on" game defensively and rebounding-wise.

i suppose one view is that this is all natural and organic growth of the team. Luka exerting and executing more as part of team defense knowing that he doesn't have to save it all for the offensive side of things. And the rest of the team stepping up to make plays and big shots leading to less of a need for Luka to just do hero ball.
I really want them to keep all the core players for another run. minus THJ - ready to move on from him and bring on OMAX and give hardy more of a role.

THJ is the one that has to go in order to keep DJJ...easy call but as fans we will have to be prepared to part with something attached to THJ and his expiring. I'm think a 2nd round pick or two, definitely no 1st.

yeah DJJ would have to be asking for full mle, the other options he's played himself out of. Which means THJ has to be moved to make room. I would say there's no way DJJ is leaving but I wouldve bet my life Jalen Brunson wasnt leaving too.

I'm tired of Luka complaining too... But I'm WAY more tired of people complaining about Luka's complaining. It's fucking overblown. Dort was mauling him on every single play. And I maintain Luka's complaining has never actually cost us a game. At very worst its just annoying.

Only way I see DJJ leaving is if we win a chip.

I can see it. It probably makes other teams covet him more and might put him out of our price range. Championship teams almost always get picked apart by free agency. It just happened to the Nuggets- they lost Bruce Brown and Jeff Green. I bet they get past Minnesota if they still have those guys.

Main issue is the reffing is bad. So whether a player, coach, or org complains doesn't really change the root of the problem. Luka is right 9 times out of 10 about the lack of calls.
And my gripe wasn't about Luka complaining to the officiating as you saw in my response.

I've watched almost every Mavs game since Luka arrived and watched him complain a lot. My conclusion is its pretty much irrelevant. The only possible harm is to the Mavs if Luka doesn't get back on defense.
However, now that the haters can't fairly say that Luka is out of shape, or Luka doesn't play defense, this is all they have left to fall back on. The entire tenor of the coverage of the OKC series came down to "why can't Luka be a boring choir boy like SGA?"
Look at the play where Luka got his last tech. He was rebounding when he got pushed in the shoulder and knocked down, while the ball he was about to control skittered out of bounds. Yet in all the whining on TNT about Luka, they never mentioned he was right on the call. It cost him a tech and cost the Mavs a possession, in a one possession game. He had every right to be pi $$ed.

Would have liked to see PJ take a few dribbles for a short mid range there, but the 3 was open

That?s my biggest concern. Dude gets away with so much. Gafford has the muscle to keep him from getting too much but not the length. Lively has the length but he?s just too skinny and Gobert can do anything he wants including two arms to the back and it?s okay

Ffs Luka. 8 seconds on the clock and you have to heave a logo 3? How about not walk it up the court next time?
