They talked about signing a big and decided Burke made more sense now and in the future rather than what was available.

They should have had Dirk quarantined already just in case so he can be out there to take KP's place.

I do love when refs blow calls and then give techs when players complain

We definitely need some 6'8 defenders and play-makers.

I get that but we could have at least signed a big 2-way as insurance for this situation.
I've been harping on this issue from the beginning of last season so let me have my time

Luka shouldn’t be out there without KP playing.

I think the Mavs could have had a decent run of it if we had a healthy roster.
Without two starters and our 6th man? Not really a chance

Amazing how quickly Mavs fans go from cheering for the Burke signing to arguing that we should have gotten some stiff who wasn't even good enough to make the other 29 teams.

As long as the medical staff doesn't think there's a risk of more severe injury, what's the difference? They aren't advancing, so why not get the kid that experience?

There's always more risk of an injury when a body part is tender. It is always a risk to play while injured. The ankle is weaker so is more likely to be twisted again, and also an injury to one body part make injuries to other body parts more likely.
Klay Thompson was cleared to play with tightness, and he ruptured his ACL. One injury always make you more likely to injure yourself.

Right, I get that. But obviously, the medical staff has decided the risk of MAJOR injury isn't elevated, or you can bet your life he wouldn't be on the floor. And, since there's a 0% chance the Mavs will play in round 2, there's no issue with him sustaining another garden variety ankle sprain.
So, what's the concern?

Burke AND a backup big was possible. Bringing Lee and the 2 way guys was a waste of roster spots

Luka is hurting badly. Grimacing every play. He was getting treatment every two hours until late last night.
You can't honestly tell me that it's a good idea for him to be playing on that ankle...in this game.

What I can definitively tell you is that the Mavericks organization values Luka's long term health over the chance of winning a meaningless playoff game in series they know they can't win against a significantly better team. I can also tell you that there are likely 10 people employed by the organization with more medical knowledge of the situation, both specific to Luka and in general, than you or I combined.

We have Kleber, Powell, KP, Boban, and WCS on the roster. Why would a team have more than five bigs?

Warriors obviously cared about Thompson's health when they played too, but you are obviously smarter than me, so I will stop arguing.

That one was a mistake. Agreed. I don't know who's smarter, but it seems like I trust the Mavs organization more than you do, that's all.

Fn horse hockey. The league is already a joke, to "speak with him" and take that stance is piss poor.

I just think it's dumb to have Luka play on an ankle that is obviously bothering him.
I guess I'm just a dumb and you are just smart.

The Clippers signed Joahkim Noah and I don't think I've seen him this series. Guess he's completely done.

Why is this a homer call?
Imagine if PG was ejected instead of KP and Leonard was hurt instead of Luka. Those are legitimate REASONS for losing games

We started this season with 2 centers and 2 PFs and 13 guys 6'7 and under.
Tell me what is wrong with that picture and I wasn't the only one concerned...especially when one of those centers came off a major injury and the other is very limited.

I was being sarcastic because he used to coach the Mavs. I don't know that we would be 3-0 regardless of anything going against us, but things have clearly gone against us to where we could be up 2-1.
