Especially if we can manage to steal home court from them! But the Mavs are by a wide margin the best-equipped to defend them. Between Haywood/Damp, we've got the best chance of stopping their frontcourt. Most importantly, I think we've got the best combination of perimeter defenders to throw at Kobe.
The Lakers are still the favorites, no question, but I think the Mavs match up with them better than any other team in the west. With everyone healthy, I give the Mavs anywhere from 30-40% chance, depending on if we can steal home court or not.

Still wondering why we always have to give up tons of easy baskets in the final minutes...

It's pretty damn hard to play good defense without a center in the game, and Carlisle exacerbates the problem by playing the 2 point guard lineup. Not that I'm complaining, but when you've got 2 point guards and Najera out there, you're going to give up baskets.

This offense looks so much better when Marion is finishing at the rim. We have guys that will get him the ball he just has to convert.

Nah, absolutely not. This great game deserves the tank. I got stuck with a TV show where -mainly- drunk citizens were awarded *lol*

Well before this previous stretch of games, Roddy was averaging 17 points per 36 minutes on very good shooting percentages. So I don't think the scoring explosions should come as a total shock. The nice surprise, however, is that he's bringing his turnover numbers down. He was averaging close to 4 turnovers per 36 minutes three games ago. However in this last three game stretch he has 3 turnovers total. So maybe that's where Carlisle's hesitation to play him was coming from, and if so you have to be happy about that stat.

Great win, wow its nice to see how tough this team is. Man its just a luxury to have so many good players on one team. Kidd ran the offense well, and was only four points shy of getting a triple double. I was rooting hard for him tonight but I don't think he even took any more shots in the 4th. Roddy was great, one of the Bulls commentators said it best: "Beaubois is like a Tony parker with a jumpshot", Roddy is such a beast. He can handle the ball well, shoot the ball, get to any spot on the floor he wants and he also has a 6'10 wingspan. The Guy is just a monster.
Caron was a beast tonight as well. Funny how folks on Db.com were saying he isn't a "Robin" kind of player. Well, Caron just proved those guys wrong. He hit big shots all night, and worked hard on defense. Tonight was his best game as a Maverick.
Matrix has really looked good as of late, he's going up strong on his layups now, finishing easy baskets, rebounding, defending and whenever he gets a chance on the break he's slamming it home. So much for those who were saying Marion had declined, he's proving them wrong. He looks like the Shawn Marion of old out there.
Dirk had a somewhat slow start but in the 4th he simply could not be stopped. The Bulls were getting away with tons of contact but it didn't matter, Dirk simply willed the team to victory. He really set the tone for himself and the rest of the team to be aggressive in the 4th. I love you Dirk and I love this team!
Najera got some good looks at the 3 tonight and he made it rain on the Bulls. I really like Najera, great energy guy, great hustle guy and he seems to be a great teammate. Good game from him tonight.
Stevenson played little bit tonight, I really like Stevenson's defense and toughness. He's a legit player, folks just wait till he gets a bit more comfortable. This man can shoot and he's athletic. And you can see that he's motivated as well, he's going to be very valuable come playoff time.
Overall good game tonight, we showed a lot of toughness and grit out there. I still think our defense needs to improve and that our guys really have to make a conscious effort to box out and rebound. Especially when playing zone, we've gotta rebound better. But apart from that solid win without key players. I hope the guys get some rest, and then we'll go for our 12th win in a row on Monday. Remember folks, this is just the beginning!

No Damp, Thomas, Terry, Haywood and the Mavs keeping wining.....I don't remember the last time the Mavs where this deep if ever, I want the Mavs to get the #2 sead real bad now because the Nuggets suck a** on the road and I don't think it's gonna change in the playoffs.

my impression is that mavs' plan with roddy is to make him the next jason kidd for the team's future.
what he's shown so far is that he can be a phenomenal 2. but when it comes to quarter-backing the team, he's not nearly as good as jjb, for now.
i believe that is the main reason his playing time had been limited. and may remain so for this season. simply because 2 is one of our deepest positions, and he hasn't shown enough to warrant consistent minutes at 1.

He must have looked at this box(dammit, not in there anymore) in Stein's weekend dime and wondered how the hell he's not on the list of guys with at least six 15 assist games this season. Now he is.

He could always change his opinion 270 degrees and then back 90 degrees.

I doubt anyone is as pumped about what this team is doing as Caron is. I think the guy just REALLY wants to win. His offensive putback that sealed the game for us, and his clutch steals against Evans and Collison.. the guy is taking his game to another level to keep the wins coming.
"“I’m enjoying it. A great feeling. I haven’t been a part of something like this ever.’’ - Butler after the game
Good for these guys. This is exactly what these guys needed and what the veterans on this team needed (Dirk, Jet, Damp, Kidd..) to get them going.
on an unrelated note, i can't help but feel a little sad for Devin and JHo.
