Pistons are all being pushy. Mavs keeping composure is most important.

I guess NBA allows players to mug 37yr old Dirk just to make it a fair fight. Oh well take the W.

And the NBA absolutely can't get rid of the "hack a Shaq" maneuver. The game tilted back to the Mavs when Drummond was put on the bench because he can't shoot free throws.

I made a point earlier in the season that the team might be better off with Barea starting over Williams. Glad he is helping with my opinion there.
Once again, Barea is at his best when relied upon in a bigger role.

So are we cheering for Utah to win and Houston to lose or are we cheering against both Utah and Rockets?

I'd focus more on trying to get as many wins between us and the 9th seed than worrying about who we match up with... So, yeah, root against everyone.

The future is finally looking less terrible. Matthews is finally coming about. You could live if Williams bolted which is unlikely. You're guaranteed to match any offer on Powell since I think the max another team can offer is like 5.6. Anderson is one of the better first round picks of his draft if you'd believe it. Mejri is under contract for two more seasons. Just keep playing the young guys.

Not sure which forum you're referring to, but folks on D-M understand the tradeoff and love Barea nonetheless. No shits around here since 2010 (back when he was in that ridiculous 3-point slump, before he was making babies with Miss Puerto Rico). If I had to choose between JJB, Harris and Felton, Barea wins because he brings the most reward with the least amount of risk. Dude is solid.

JJ for 6th man of the year? Let's not forget when rondo ditched us right before playoffs started. Barea at least helped the team compete against houston. He has really learned a lot and used to playing in Dallas.

Really have to hope for Utah to slip at this point. Houston is playing much better than earlier and will win at least 4 of those

This....Barea is a great fit in RC's system.
Wish DWill had Barea's drive and durability.

With Matthews at SG instead of someone like Monta I think Barea could be a decent starter for our team.
Barea is making a strong case for not overpaying DWill this off-season.

Is it just me, or was there a conspicuous absence of playing Dirk or Lee at the five? Whatever it was, I liked it. Barea, Mejri, and Anderson had some nice energy, and it looks like Zaza may have recovered a little spring in his step with the recent lighter use. I'd still like to see McGee get some minutes, but it doesn't look like Carlisle will be playing him unless 4 more guys are out injured. Even then, Rick would probably prefer to play 4 against 5 rather than use McGee. SMH
Great win Mavs! The injury bug forced Carlisle to play a new combination that made him look like a genius. I hope he took notes.

@espn_macmahon: The Mavs have held their last three opponents under 90 points, their longest such streak since January 2012. That comes on the heels of a horrendous defensive stretch, as the Mavs allowed more than 113 points per game during their 2-10 skid, bottoming out with a 133-111 loss to the Kings immediately before Dallas began its winning streak. The difference, according to coach Rick Carlisle: ramping up the defensive intensity and slowing down the tempo. "The guys are buying into a style of play that puts us into a better position to defend," Carlisle said. "Going forward, it's a feel game. Sometimes we've got to go a little faster, sometimes we've got to tempo it down a little bit. We've got a smart, veteran team and these guys all want to win, so we're just trying to do whatever it takes."

It was a simple as starting Anderson and Matthews together imo. Not rocket science.
