Yep, big part of his game. His age was the only real knock when it came time for the draft. He's a Jrue Holiday starter kit with more offensive upside, IMO.

Yeh. He has surfaced on the Bulls. I can quit stressing over him. At least the Mavs got Sterling Brown, Burke and kept WCS. Doh!

He looks great on defense. Should be good offensively too. He and Halliburton will make for an incredible backcourt. They should trade Fox.

Man. It sucks that Nate Hinton has one of those 2 way spots. He is playing like shit and doesn't look as NBA ready as I thought. Last year he looked decent in his minutes on the team. Last night he had 5 shots blocked. 3 of them were on open 3s, and 2 I'll advised layup attempts.
Omoruyi looks like a useful player as does Robert Franks. Those are the 2 best looking Mavs on the SL so far.

Hinton is a great chemistry guy, but is absolutely a waste of a roster spot otherwise.

That's what I see. You can't be getting blocked 5 times in a game and 3 of them on 3ptrs where he was relatively open. Super slow release allowed defenders to make up ground. The 2 lay up attempts that were blocked never even remotely had a chance. You could see it happening right when he floored the ball too.
I don't see him getting any minutes on the big boy team. He looks like a player that will get stuck on G league team. Sucks because last year he looked like the best player of the rookies we had.

Green looked the best, warts and all. He actually contributed in non-garbage time in minutes that mattered a few times.

Just read a note from Detroit press that our would-be draft choice Saddiq Bey was so overwhelmingly good in the Summer league debut that he has no business being there. Just sayin for the 1000x10**5 time that we goofed up. Ok kick my ass now board for bringing this obvious point up again.

Well he's 2yrs older than Green so we just have to hope I guess. But he was good in the regular season he hasn't been great in summer league so Idk why they would mention he's so good he doesn't belong there when the guy is averaging 13pts a game and 30% from 3 in SL. Maybe one game he was great and the other he sucked? His regular season was where he did good. If Josh Green averaged 13 a game on 30% from 3 we would be talking about how he sucks compared to Bey. Shows again how SL is for the most part meaningless. It's especially bad for teams without a playmaker to help create offense for others.

There is no reason for the Mavs to even have a summer league.
Sure we got a couple of two-way guys, but no first-rounders (Green not playing and no FRP last draft) and no second-rounders (Terry not playing, no SRP this last draft)
No wonder we're on our way to 0-4

Well why the hell isn't Green playing? What a waste of a pick that was.

You think? From NBA.com
Bey scored a season-high 30 points, hitting 7 of 7 3-point shots, on a night that would prove to be Blake Griffin’s final game in a Pistons uniform. Bey moved into the starting lineup full-time after that and went on to a historic rookie season. He led all rookies in 3-pointers with 175, four more than No. 1 overall pick Anthony Edwards despite 60 fewer attempts. Bey made five or more 3-pointers in a game a record 13 times for a rookie, breaking the record of 10 shared by a couple of guys named Allen Iverson and Steph Curry. If it had been a typical 82-game season, Bey was on course to break Donovan Mitchell’s NBA rookie record of 187 triples made.

Still waiting for the one time you compare 20y Bey with 20y old Green, crybaby...

I'm not going to lie, while I think Green deserves time and comes with obvious physical gifts that Bey doesn't, it really hurts to see guys like Maxey, Quickley, Bey, and Bane contribute right off the bat.
Maxey might be the one that hurts the most. The kid is exactly what we said we needed, a secondary ball handler/ scorer with good size and skills and ZERO fear. He's going to be a problem.

This sort of contradicts what some mavs fans said last season about our rookies
Your saying SL is meaningless
Yet some fans said not having SL last season hurt our rookies and didn't allow them the time to grow which is why they couldn't get minutes
And btw are we really making a big deal of a guy being 22 vs a guy 20?
I'm guessing 5 years from now the comparison will be 27 year old Bey vs 25 year old Green lol

Not a single person on here beat the Bey drum more than me. That will go down as one of the worst misses in Mavs draft history.

The Athletic article about the best players of summer league was tough to read. We could have had at least one or maybe two of those players

Any thoughts who makes the regular season roster from this summer league debacle?

All I said is we have to hope he develops. He is only 20, so there is reason for hope that he can develop his offensive game. What else is there to do? I guess people can keep posting about how it was a failed pick and we should have taken Bey, because that sure is fun and wasn't done in over 40 GDT's last year. The bottom line is Green is 20, he's not a finished product, either hope he gets better or move on.

They are 18 months apart. We act like Josh is 16 year old Luka in the Spanish league or something.

I thought they should’ve taken Paul Reed as well but must admit I haven’t heard his name since the draft last season until now.
No idea what he is doing now.

Got a chance to watch a game in Vegas and must say Mavs didn't have much talent on that roster (SL)
But it's always good to drive up from Phoenix to check out their SL team

Hah! Yes they have approximately zero talent on the summer league roster.

You live in Phoenix? Is that summer heat not a beat down?
