Terrible. Just terrible. Would be hilarious to offer a big contract to Lin though, considering we found him. Or maybe it wouldn't be that hilarious.

Saying "I don't like the direction the team is going on because I think it's fruitless" is not the same as "There's not really anything to talk about at all" (which is what you said, verbatim).
There's plenty to talk about.

Sigh. This kinda stuff frustrates me way more about the FO than anything they did last summer.

Seems like mavsnation is pretty torn about which PG to target next. Honestly, I have it Dragic-Nash/Lin. I would love to know others' reasoning if they have a different order.
I just like Dragic's game, even when he was with the Suns. I kept telling my brother that he has a lot of upside in his game, he just didn't have enough exposure and bam, he explodes for the Rockets (no pun intended). I have Nash next for sentimental reasons, though Nash can still ball. Just worried about his back and his defense (though his defense has been getting better). Then we have Lin. I have it as a tie since Lin showed he has some elite skills during his linsanity run. He just has to play against a star who's not selfish (ding! Dirk) but he tends to turn the ball over a lot. Probably have Kidd mentor him. But he has a great shot, and can get inside and score. All three of those guards would still be great paired up next to Dirk.

That means a starting salary of 8 mil or more for Dragic ain't gonna happen.

Screw it, I'm all in on Linsanity now. If we can't put together a quality team, let's go for the entertainment value.
Also if we bring back Lin, I say Cadbane's perma-ban should be lifted.

Seconded since Dagic seems to not be interesting to FO now? We've made a history of betting on a long shot untested player, let's keep it rolling?

It appears it might be a matter of money and not being as fond of Dragic's game for the reluctance.

Havent decided? lol. what are they just starting to break down film on him now?
I dont believe that for second. They have to gauge interest w/out offending Nash perhaps?

If the Mavs are going to have financial flexibility to get a superstar then they effin need to stick to some sort of a plan and get a superstar, not flop around like a flounder out of the water.
Either financial flexibility gets you what you want or change your tack and gather youngsters and rebuild. Can't be half-ass about it.

Its been crowdsourced. Dude actually took up the reigns for a while too.
As for the blatant anti-Asian racism, we've luckily been free of that.

I do not want Dirk to stand and watch how Lin and co. pad their stats in a circus show.
This is all so embarrassing
Kidd
Tyson
Jet
Marion
Dirk
were the heart and soul of this team. They deserved better than that.
If you dismantle such a special group of guys, you better have a very good plan.

Nash Kidd Harris Bell Griffin Jet Wright Howard Marion Nowitzki Najera Wright Haywood Dampier Mahinmi. And bring Finley Stack and Pops Mensah Bonsuh in as assistants. Git we done.

So just out of curiosity and totally not being sarcastic, is there anyone that we've heard the Mavs FO IS willing to spend money on?? So far it seems like it was Deron and .... well hmmm. They seem to have gathered up the money just fine, now what?

They're one move away from being in full-on rebuilding. Just a matter of time before the topic of amnestying Dirk is suggested. There. I did it.

Dragic probably demands a four year deal. I feel pretty confident that's the issue.
I really, really don't like the idea of Lin, but he'd be pretty darn cheap the first couple years.

This is the first thing we hear from those guys?? Is it just me or this exactly the type of thing they would say if they are going to make a push for the dude? That MBT is a slippery bunch.

There is no going back.
I'd actually prefer to bring in young players and rebuild than try to tread water. The only exception is if we could get Nash+Howard-- because that may actually be a competitive team this year. That said, we criticized King for being an idiot that threw money around. Paying a guy like Dragic an albatross of a contract like Haywood and Marion have just seems silly.

Actually dude just wouldn't shut up about how he thought that the mbt were dumbasses to let Tyson go. Folks wanted instead to put their eggs in a deron basket. Now they have a bunch of cracked eggs.

I think Dragic at around 4yrs.36million sounds like a good start. Thats about right about what they have w/out having amnestied anyone, right? 9?

i don't get why they would not look at Dragic either. He's a better shooter/passer than Lin. And he is the type of player that would improve big time with minutes.
Oh well. Maybe they are looking to trade for someone I don't know about. But if they bring back Kidd/West and just sign someone like Raymond Felton... just put me out of my misery.

After mulling it over, I say screw it. Go for 2 years of fun, Nash will give it his all. Try to recapture the magic of 2011 again, just need some presence in the middle to support Carlisle's terrific zone.
Offer Nash what you can to grab him, he wants to play for a contender. Mavericks after that only need a big man to contend, with Nash the PG, SF, and PF spots would still be quite strong. Try to snag someone like Kaman or Camby, or even Asik if the Mavericks can still pursue him.

Man, you know i just wanted to see Dirk next to a top10 superstar player.
I feel for the guy. He deserves that. Worst part is he's losing his sidekick/
pick and roll partner too. Hard to replace that and the heart Jet brings. Not to mention clutchness. Sad day
